We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Leroy Musonye. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Leroy below.
Leroy, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
When I was 6 years old, I knew I wanted to pursue art cartoonist to be exact. I always had an eye for art but it started with jelousy lol. Me being the last born my sister got too much attention with her art. So I started drawing and found out I was really good at it. I kept at it because I wanted to get better. With time the passion for art started falling into fashion. The best way for me share that was not only on social media but by styling others and helping them discover their own personal style.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello my name is Leroy I am from Nairobi kenya, living outside of the Philly area. I’m known on social media as Mr put together I got into my industry by my love for fashion, I provide Wardrobe styling & personal shoping services. Alot of people dont know where to begin when it comes to putting an outfit together or even what to get for everyday wear. People also dont like shopping they get overwhelmed by all the choices thats where I step in. What makes me stand out is I dont just style you I help you develop or unlock your own sense of style. I help
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I did this for 5 years and didnt make a penny and i thought about quiting all the time. I knew thre was a light at the end of the tunnel I felt like this was my purpose. I believe when you move in your puropose and you genuinly care to help people it will come back to you. I was laughed at by a designer when I was an intern for Philly fashion week about my resume then less than a year later I got to work Newyork fashion week. dont ever give up on your dreams, some people do it sooner but everyone has a time and mine is now.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Stop calling it a hobby, stop undermining the work we do and stop under paying creative work. this is where we are heading and these are skills that will be seaked out by allot of companies.
