Hi Makisha, thanks for joining us today. What can you share with us about the story behind how you found your key vendors?
Finding a key manufacturer or distributor is essential to having a successful online business. I simply found them but researching on the internet. There is so much information available to you. It does not always come to you. Sometimes you have to search for it and educate yourself. I researched wholesale clothing. The companies populated in my search. The requirements to shop at wholesale price was to obtain a resale certificate. Once i obtained my resale certificate that landed me access to many wholesale companies. What I do would do differently is to start building business credit to leverage my business as soon as I started in 2019. In addition to get my resale certificate as soon as I launched my online boutique. Also when you are looking at certain products look at the reviews and material of the item. Having access to so many vendors it can be hard to choose from. But, I made my choice with my vendor due to wide variety of fashion items for all sizes. The icing on the cake is the shipping is extremely quick and the quality is excellent. This vendor was excited to work with me since I was very professional. My lesson to anyone is to educate yourself on the industry you are in. So many resources and information is out there for you.

I am Makisha Gaffney owner of Fashion Queen LLC since 2019. I reside in Jacksonville, Florida. I am a mother of two children. My son is 19 and my daughter is 11. They are both born in July. I am a homebody that loves to read books. But, in my spare time I do love going out to eat at different places. Me and the kids also enjoy taking road trips. I gave birth to my daughter in 2013. Having her in my life. It made me want to change how I dressed. I did not want her to believe society that in fashion you have to dress revealing to feel beautiful. Beauty comes from within and its ok to embrace the Queen you are. I love to dress up and feel beautiful. As women it helps boost our confidence. I knew I wanted to start selling clothing I just didn’t know how to start. I saw a woman on social media selling a vendors list. I purchased the list then a website. I have been helping women feel more confident since then. I offer products from women’s clothing to shoes and accessories. I have expanded to digital products. I have my first e-book on business credit. I am currently working on a Vendors List e-book to help those wanting to start a online boutique. In the fashion industry I help boost the self esteem of so many woman. Just that one shirt. That one skirt or outfit. Once you put it on you feel beautiful. When you look good you feel good. I am extremely proud that my business products have shipped to Hawaii and the UK. What I want my potential clients and followers to know that we are looking forward to servicing you and helping you feel more confident.

Losing my mom last year in July of 2023 was a huge blow I faced. She supported me in all I did. She was my voice to keep going. It was hard to continue since her voice was gone. But the good works she did still lives. She always told me to follow my dreams. The show still must go on. I still want to make her proud. I love what I do. Before she passed I did not offer plus size. So many kept asking for plus size. Losing my mom is what inspired me to add more fashion pieces for curvy women. I also believe in making the best out of a situation. My mom had a lot of knowledge in business. She shared it with others. It inspired me to also share my knowledge through digital products. My first digital product is my Business Credit E-Book. I am working on more digital products as well.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
I honestly started out funding my own business out of my pocket when I started. I started to research Business Funding. I found out about Business Credit. Business Credit changed my life. It also helped leverage my business. My revenue increased to 10k a month. All from using my business credit. I wanted to help others and show them how to get funding. So I have a E-Book on Business Credit available on my website.
