We were lucky to catch up with Krystal Vasquez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Krystal, appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
The riskiest thing I have ever done was start an Wellness business during the Pandemic in 2020. With the huge risk of placing my bets and daily income on a new business, came a ton of small risks. It all started in March 2020, my husband and I were walking down a Main street in a small town called Bristol. It seemed rather deserted, not many people around and lots of building space for rent/sale. My husband seemed to take it as a challenge and thought it would be fun to “Find me a store”. It had been a long time since I had thought of being an owner of a shop of any sorts. My business degree was in Small Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship but I had found myself in a very monotonous, though steady, career at Amtrak. This meant my paycheck was a sure thing, something I wouldn’t have in my own business, at least to start.
Call it divine intervention but by March 8th, we had decided to sign a lease to a small space with multiple rooms so my energetic practices could continue. Then, by March 20th, my work had sent me home and we were all in “lockdown”. This meant everything became harder to accomplish alongside being afraid of the possibility of catching this illness. I took my time being introspective, and over the next few months, slowly renovated the space, little by little to adjust it to the vision I had in my head.
As of June 5, the lockdown was lifted and I was able to open my shop with precautions in place. Opening the shop was one thing but leaving my secure career, was another. The Universe laid out a nice little plan for me and I couldn’t help but think it couldn’t have gotten any easier to transition, so I took it. Here we are 4 years later with a very steady business, clientele and community.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Krystal, I own Energy Ripple, a brick and mortar &online Wellness Space & Metaphysical shop in the heart of Bristol, Pa.
What is a Metaphysical shop? We specialize in items related to spirituality, mysticism, and alternative healing practices. We typically offer a wide range of products such as crystals, incense, herbs, candles, spiritual books, tarot cards, and other tools used in practices like meditation, energy healing, divination, and astrology.
The term “metaphysical” refers to the philosophical or spiritual ideas that go beyond the physical realm and are often associated with questions about the nature of existence, consciousness, and the universe. We cater to individuals interested in exploring these ideas and practices, providing a space where they can find tools and resources to support their spiritual or personal growth journeys.
I spent a number of years playing in the realms of spiritualism & witchery off an on. At one point, in a reading with a Medium, she suggested that my intuition was walled off. So i decided to break down all the walls, it took some time of utilizing spiritual tools and really leaning how to interact with them using my intuition before, I myself, was able to do mediumship as well as read others energies. I spent a lot of time with a spiritual community, learning and expanding my conscious awareness of these intuitive nudges as well as learning how to follow those nudges into aiding others on their journeys.
As an energy worker, I hold several certificates in spiritual modalities to help one focus in on wellness and move through their life with flow and ease. A lot of my clientele includes those who are prone to anxiety, fears, sleeplessness, fertility warriors, those diagnosed with autoimmune issues and much more. I am not here to “fix” your life, as a healer, I am here to reflect a frequency of healing, and remind your body how to move energy in a way that feels natural to release and heal more quickly than you would alone.
This is a judgement free zone but I always tell my clientele that I can only help with what is available within their limits. Each person holds the key to their high consciousness and awareness, I can reflect only what is within their capability based on the limits of their belief systems.
On top of running a crystal shop and energetic coaching sessions, I am a cofounder of Bristol AltFaire and Alternative Faire that is run in and around the shop regularly. We invite alternative vendors to sell their wares as well as accompany the theme of the faire. There is usually food, drink and entertainment.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Reputation for me revolves around how I treat my clients and conduct myself in professional settings. I think there is a huge undertone of ‘scamming’ in the Wellness field along with ‘toxic positivity’, well I am not here for either of those things.
I set reasonable expectations for clients while aiming for miracles. The dark variables of our souls must be looked at and gratitude must be created for those variables, as much as or even more than our light sides.
I do my very best to interact with others without an air of judgement or bias and I know that in creating a safe, inclusive space, my clientele has expanded as well as become return customers over and over.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was that success doesn’t look the same for everyone, it’s not always monetary either.
For me, a sign of success has been people recognizing my store name, or overhearing them say good things while out in public, having a community that rallies around the business to keep it going.
Not every year that I have been in business has equaled more growth on the monetary scales but it has brought more awareness, and humans into my life.
