We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Petrie Willink. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Petrie below.
Petrie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I have a part in Oppenheimer, working with Christopher Nolan was a significant experience, as I am also I sci/fi, writer and filmmaker. I tried ad libing a line during a rehearsal, he very kindly said that that was great but that I needed worry about the writing.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My background is acting, as a child I auditioned to be Harry Potter and I was part of the local drama club where we put on plays and little performances. When I moved to LA I settled into my career and developed scripts while acting. A few years ago, I partnered with a producer and we made Krispr. Its a sci/fi, thriller film inspired by the gene editing technology crisprCAS9. It’s professionally produced and distributed around the globe.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In 2018 I signed with the manager I still have today, he sent me to an audition on the lot at Paramount Studios. It was for a leading character in a Warner Bros, DC Comics Superhero show. Huge job, six months of filming in Atlanta. Several months go by and my manager calls me from out the blue, he says I’ve been put “On Avail” in first position for the show! Obviously I was euphoric, but two months go by and I still haven’t received the final call. My manager enquires and the part was given to someone else, I don’t know why or what happened but getting back out of bed after I received that news in one of the hardest thing I’ve ever overcome.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
What really delights my creative soul is when people come up to me and talk about how much they loved watching the drama and suspension build and unfold in Krispr. All the twists and turns of the story, and the outstanding performances we captured from out actors. We’ve had some really wonderful things said to us about the film.
