We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rashelle Duplechain . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rashelle below.
Alright, Rashelle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
Rooted with Rashelle Wellness Coaching, is simple yet encompasses so much of my uniqueness as a person. First, I am a virgo so this relating to the element of Earth was a big yes for me. I also love alliterations, another green flag when sitting with this name. One of the more profound resonances for me is that it relates to my passion of going deep! At times, I find it hard to keep up with shallow small talk. I am attracted to going to depths that people may be too afraid of or avoid all together, for various reasons, all of which are understandable.
Where the roots grow, is a dark place where sight alone can’t be used to navigate, a place where creepy crawly things reside, a place that can be uncomfortable compared to lofty conditions above ground. Yet if we don’t know this dark, scary place, we may wonder why our expression is not the most vibrant or healthy.
So in my practice, I make the analogy of a literal garden to our internal garden. We are the seed, the soil our circumstances or environment (whether chosen or not), and how we cultivate and nurture that garden determines our external expression and our sense of self.
Getting to the root of a problem, means we go to those scary places, evaluate the soil and learn how to nurture our garden. Some environments or life circumstances may appear to be shitty (literally) but overtime, compost can become dense with nutrients that allow us to grow in ways we never could have imagined.
So whatever the circumstance may be, transmuting life experiences into rich soil, into gold or wisdom, is what I help my clients do. Together, we provide our roots (our deeper inner workings), with the care they need such as water (self-love) and nutrients (empowerment), so that as we grow towards the sun (whatever guidance system is preferred), our expression is vibrant, authentic and resilient to the external or above ground circumstances.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I grew up in a military house hold with a strict and oppressive father which fueled my already rebellious soul to go against conventional societal structures. Overall, my childhood was good so no shade, but no one truly escapes childhood without a little damage. : D
Anyhow, I started a nursing career in 2012 and after about 8 years in, I realized I could no longer work in the politically and financially driven hospital system. Their true values were wildly misaligned with mine and the environment extremely toxic. As I searched for other options, the Universe dropped Nurse Coaching into my awareness and within a couple of years I finally pulled the trigger to become a Board-Certified Nurse Coach and begin my entrepreneurial journey.
Within my practice, I work with clients 1:1 where I guide them to liberation from old patterns and conditioning through self-discovery, empowerment, radical acceptance and unconditional love for self. I am passionate about unlocking the full potential of a human after being oppressed whether by society as a whole or within family/cultural/caretaker dynamics.
To help clients navigate self – discovery and see true transformation, I use a blend of science, spirituality, psychology, energetics, and astrology.
This unique blend of tools allows me to use a variety of languages to work with clients. Whether they prefer science and tangible practices to pursue goals, spiritual or “woo” practices, or both, I am proud to be able to meet my clients where they are. I think we are in times where the bridge between science and spirituality can peacefully be constructed and this concept is a thread in my mission.
Something I get excited about and one of my favorite areas of the human psyche to work with is the subconscious (that dark scary place), which has immense power over determining what most of our reality is. To work with the subconscious I use a variety of methods including Shadow Work, Inner Child work, an erotic method by Carolyn Elliot called Existential Kink, and Internal Family Systems. When we make subconscious desires or fears conscious or heal wounded parts, it unlocks massive potential and momentum as people work towards their dreams. It’s truly like magic and everyone of us are capable of accessing this.
Lastly, for clients that are open to astrology, I do natal birth chart readings to shine light on soul growth patterns. Evolutionary astrology, founded by Steven Forrest, is an extraordinary self development tool that can reveal insights into life purpose, ways in which your soul desires to grow, past life themes, natural gifts/talents, and more.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was that of success only comes with constant productivity, My past conditioning contributed to a mindset that dictated I must always be productive to thrive, claim abundance or feel worthy of success. If I wasn’t exhausted by the end of the day, I felt as if I wasn’t doing something right.
Being an entrepreneur takes incredible discipline, no doubt, but I believe I confused this with rigid and unforgiving principles that I let guide my actions. Actions that did not allow for rest, surrender, or attraction. The relentless chasing of the dream, gripping and clawing for wins in the business world is a strategy that no longer works for me. Ive learned that rest is crucial, surrendering my will to co-create with Spirit is an absolute, and that I am worthy of success without driving my self into the ground.
I now know this concept to be a balance of masculine and feminine energy. Our culture pushes an unhealthy form of masculinity down our throats. It says chase money, force your will, push your body to dangerous limits, “to DO is to become,” all without the balance of the feminine which is in fact, the creative, attractive force. The feminine calls for us to rest, to reflect, to tune in to our emotions, to be compassionate with others and ourself, and to receive.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The year 2021 came with massive shifts in both my career and personal life. To become a coach, I turned down the opportunity to enter graduate school to pursue becoming a Psych Nurse Practitioner. I had to face the fear of going against what many would say is a secure and lucrative career path for one that had a lot of unknowns. Would this provide financial security? Is coaching a field you can retire in? Is this truly my calling or am I choosing to be different for contradictions sake? Where will this lead me in 20-30 years? I didn’t know the answers to any of those questions except one, I had a inner knowing that this is my calling and the path Im supposed to take. So I dove fully into commitment to creating a business.
At the end of my 7 month coaching certification, I realized I also needed to divorce my husband and father of my two girls. To put it simply, we were no longer aligned and had served our purpose to each other. I could no longer grow into who I needed to be in the relationship. It felt as though, at 32, life was taking a drastically different turn, albeit for the best. A tumultuous time but I knew without a doubt, I felt this call to make major changes in the direction to which I was headed. Without seeing a clear end game, without reassurance from any external source, I simply, knew it was time to start living for me.
