Miss , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Earlier this year I released a single called “Quicksand” from my upcoming concept album “Black Dreams” This project is based around the “African American experience”.
Black Dreams is a powerful and meaningful body of work allowing me to bring my listeners into my world and tell the story of countless others like me speaking up for the voiceless inspiring listeners, pushing for social change, and finding solidarity with others in the struggle.
Miss , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Song Writer Hip Hop Soul Artist and Entrepreneur from a small town in northern Ohio. I started my musical journey off in church, my grandmother would make me sing for the lord every Sunday.
When I was 15 years old, I had the privilege to sing and tour briefly with gospel legends such as Kirk Franklin and The Family and Hezekiyah Walker.
Over the last 10 years I have been making my contribution to the music industry behind the scenes as a music admin and songwriter. Eventually, I began traveling again on my own searching for my voice and my style of music began to expand and grow into my now hip-hop soul sound.
It wasn’t until 2019 that I felt brave enough or disciplined enough to take being an artist serious myself.
I released my 1st single “Gunz N Roses” and received several awards for it that ignited a fire inside of me to keep going and I started to really find my voice in 2020 and started to experiment with my passion for Hip Hop.
.
Many alcaldes later I am sure that I made the right decision by stepping out of my comfort zone and into the limelight.
I am determined to bring balance to the game. My music is positive relatable to all ages and based on real life.
I only want to inspire my listeners to be the best version of themselves and to love each other.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist for me is touching people’s lives with my story my truth and with my vision. I pride myself on being transparent as a creative it allows people to really get a better view of who I am.
My art is a feeling and I evoke emotions by bringing my listeners inside of my sacred space when I’m creating.
The reward is worth every vulnerable moment to share this unique connection with my listeners and to know that my art will live on touching many more lives long after I’m gone.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I love to read and one of my favorite books is: The 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen Covey This book has taught me how to manifest and use my power to lead myself and guide others effectively in many areas of life. This is a great book to start reading for interpersonal growth that will have a lasting impact.
