We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Isabela Torres. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Isabela below.
Alright, Isabela thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Is there a lesson you learned in school that’s stuck with you and has meaningfully impacted your journey?
In my experience at Lane Community College, I learned a pivotal lesson about the importance of collaboration and askinf for help within your community for creative endeavors. Initially, I approached my projects with a belief in my ability to handle everything independently. However, as the complexity of my assignments grew, I quickly realized the necessity of seeking help and working alongside others who shared my passion.
The classes I took emphasized teamwork and collective problem-solving. One memorable school project involved the production of a music video for a local band.
Each team member brought unique skills to the table—whether it was video production or directing. We embraced the challenge of capturing the band’s essence and vision through visual storytelling. Throughout the process, we navigated logistical hurdles and creative decisions together, ensuring every aspect of the video aligned with the band’s artistic direction. It was a dynamic collaboration where each contribution, from editing techniques to lighting choices, played a crucial role in shaping the final product.
These experiences taught me that true creativity thrives in an environment where individuals collaborate, share ideas, and support each other’s strengths. It’s not just about technical proficiency but also about fostering meaningful connections that enhance the quality and depth of our work. Asking for help became a strategic choice rather than a sign of weakness, enabling us to achieve results that surpassed what any of us could have accomplished alone.

Isabela, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello everyone! I’m Isabela Torres a 24 year old from Maryland. I’ve been immersed in the world of multimedia since my high school days. It all started with my brother, who introduced me to the magic of music and multimedia, inspiring us to launch Soundazed, a music blog where we shared our love and knowledge of music by covering shows, festivals, curating playlists etc.
My recent passion lies in directing photography and videography shoots. I find immense joy in capturing moments that tell stories and evoke emotions. Whether I’m tackling societal issues or showcasing the beauty of everyday life, my aim is to create impactful visual narratives.
What sets me apart is my belief in the uniqueness of every individual and the power of collaboration. I thrive on embracing diversity and working with others to create transformative art. I want potential clients to know that I am deeply committed to bringing their visions to life in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Communication is at the heart of my process. I prioritize understanding my clients’ needs, ensuring clarity and alignment throughout the project. Creating a safe and respectful working environment is non-negotiable for me because I believe it fosters creativity and trust.
I am dedicated to giving everyone a platform through my work, whether it’s through capturing compelling visuals or telling engaging stories. I believe in the power of multimedia to connect, inspire, and drive positive change.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Central to my mission is the aspiration to support and uplift my family through the success achieved in my chosen field. In the footsteps of those who have shaped my values and beliefs, I am driven by a profound sense of responsibility to provide for my loved ones and to honor the sacrifices they have made on my behalf.
True happiness, for me, is found in maintaining integrity and authenticity while creating something beautiful that transcends the ordinary. I aspire to be a person who can balance the demands of work and life, nurturing meaningful relationships and pursuing personal fulfillment without compromise.
Someday, I envision a future where I am able to support my family with the success and prosperity attained through my dedication and hard work. My deepest positive emotions arise when I am surrounded by loved ones, collaborating on projects that bring joy and fulfillment to all involved.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the ability to evoke emotions, provoke thoughts, and inspire others through my work. Whether I’m capturing a powerful moment through photography, crafting a compelling story through videography, or creating art that challenges societal norms, the impact on viewers is incredibly fulfilling.
Art has a unique way of transcending barriers and connecting people on a deeper level. When someone resonates with my work, whether they find joy, reflection, or inspiration in it, it validates the effort and passion I pour into my craft. Knowing that my creativity can spark conversations, evoke empathy, or even bring about positive change in someone’s perspective is immensely gratifying.
The journey from ideation to execution, overcoming challenges, and seeing a vision come to life is deeply satisfying. It allows me to continuously grow, learn, and push the boundaries of my own creativity. Being an artist or creative means having the privilege to contribute something meaningful to the world, leaving a lasting impact through the expression of ideas, emotions, and stories. That sense of contribution and connection with others is what makes being an artist incredibly rewarding for me.
