We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Avery Jade. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Avery below.
Avery, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s easy to look at a business or industry as an outsider and assume it’s super profitable – but we’ve seen over and over again in our conversation with folks that most industries have factors that make profitability a challenge. What’s biggest challenge to profitability in your industry?
Being a photographer brings me immense joy, but it hasn’t been easy to start out. I live in Utah County. Utah is saturated with photographers and it’s difficult to become successful. I’ve focused on my passion for photography and love for creating images that will be cherished for a lifetime. I may live in an oversaturated area, but my passion and style sets me apart. I take great care with how every photo I deliver turns out. I know that my passion and attention to detail will set me apart from other photographers.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I took film and digital photography classes in high school and fell in love. I’ve always been artistic and creative, but photography was extra special to me. I had other plans for my career, but after a traumatic accident, I changed plans. I almost lost my life, so I was going to have a career that gave me purpose and ignited my soul on fire.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
How I treated each couple/client/shoot helped me build my reputation as a photographer. I show great care to every person that I work with and to every image I deliver. I want every client to remember how I worked hard to deliver the best possible photos.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I think a creative journey takes time. It has taken time to figure out my style and editing process. I have found new resources, courses, and processes to aid in my success. One thing I think everyone starting out should have, is patience. Things take time, including growing your business. I’m still in the process of growing mine.
