We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lytia Brock a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lytia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
One of the best ideas I had was publishing my first book Making the Most of Life’s Lemons. I remember being so nervous. I always thought my first book would be on motherhood. I tried so hard to write the book on motherhood it wasn’t coming together. I began to write about different subjects from everyday life. I came up with 40 days worth of topics and upon the completion of the topics I prayed. It was then that God allowed me to know that I was to publish a 40 day workbook that would go on to become an Amazon Best Seller. In order to complete it i mapped it out, wrote the chapters, and then came up with questions for the reader to aid them in digging deep. I did the 40 day challenge myself before finally pitching it to a Christian Publishing company. After that the process was smooth. I picked a book cover published and went on to push and promote the book on multiple platforms.

Lytia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a certified life and trauma coach. I am a mother of five amazing world changers who I affectionately call the TRIBE. Growing up my Father the late Gary L.Brock Sr. was a Pastor. I always had a love for helping people.A huge part of my brands is lemons. I have survived many sour experiences so i know how to make life sweet.
I started listening to people’s problems in middle school and was able to quickly come up with a solution. I continued this work in ministry. After much prayer I went through training to become certified as a life coach to help clients develop realistic goals and plans for their lives. I believe every problem has a solution. Having the right person get you to that solution matters! Some of the products I offer are my books, my manuals, workshops, trainings, power calls, brainstorming sessions, consulting, coaching and mental mapping. My ability to rise above any obstacles helps set me apart from other coaches. I also believe You CAN Live the Life You’ve Imagined!
I am proud of my work ethic. I value my countless awards I’ve been blessed to receive. The biggest reward has been meeting amazing people and being able to provide them with services that help their dream to come true.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
One of the best ways to get new clients is word of mouth. People will always remember how you made them feel. Having a good name when it comes to business is a huge testimony of your brand and your ability to provide the services you promote.

Any advice for managing a team?
When it comes to managing a team remember that you are not alone. Delegation is your friend. So many times we load on task after task when we can simply ask for help. Having the ability to ask for help will make a huge difference when it comes to the quality of your work and aid you in resisting burnout. Another thing to remember is each person is different. Not all people on your team work, think, or learn the same way. Take time to get to know your team. Who is better at time management? Who is better with administrative task? Having a clear idea of which task each team member is strong in will keep you from doing the busy work or having to repeat a project over. Lastly, consider team building exercises and also retreats. This is another way to get to know your team outside of the work environment and this can help break up the monotony.
