We were lucky to catch up with John Pullings recently and have shared our conversation below.

John, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.

Photography was an introduction to my creative career. I started by taking pictures of clouds on my iPhone throughout the day. Patience and consistency were skills I mastered to really capture images. I have gratitude towards my creative journey. Art has always been a virtue and passion In my life. Time management and other occupations have always been a struggle moving me out of focus. I pursue and manifest days spent only around photography and creative projects.

John, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is John Pullings, also known as Fengshui or Feng for short. I’m a Photographer, Model, and Creative Director. Located in Houston Texas. Fengshui is a Chinese word meaning “the way of wind and water”. This relates to the visuals I create and my personality as an artist. I focus on the flow of presentation with my work. Capturing natural moments in their pure essence. My journey as a trifecta in the industry started by the influence of social media and art events. Now going on it’s second year, I am most proud of my consistency and accomplishments as an artist. Being a model in 30+ shoots, 4 magazine publications, and consulted more than 40+ clients.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

Art is a form of self expression. To express myself, my ideas, and to collaborate with other artists through portraits and creative concepts helps me as an artist grow in character. Growth in experience, prosperity, skills and self development is the most rewarding feeling as a creative.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I am a very passionate artist. The very virtue to my life is art; it’s all the drive I need. Prosperity and success in the art world is a great focus of mine as well. I want to spread into other entities such as being a signed model, creating my own magazine and modeling company.
