We recently connected with Jenna Johnson and have shared our conversation below.
Jenna , appreciate you joining us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
What’s interesting about creative work is you can make it as fast or slow paced as you choose. My work has slowed down a bit since having my fourth child, which was by choice. But I am able to make a full-time living doing the work that I love and having my hands in a variety of projects. I decided to take this path after choosing to stay at home and raise my children. Teaching special education full time was meaningful and rewarding, but I didn’t want to be gone from the home all day and miss my kids growing up. When I am at full capacity, I am able to light up as many deals as I can on a monthly basis, whether it be for video creation, writing another areas of my expertise.

Jenna , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have loved writing ever since I was a child and have had my work published in a variety of reading magazines. What sets me apart is that passion. When an artist is passionate about what they do, it comes through in their work. I have written digital guides, ebooks, articles, etc. and each time have put a piece of myself into whatever that was.
Recently, my following has grown through sharing toxin free tips and tricks, and clean-ingredient recipes on social media. I have partnered with companies to run promotions in order to represent their brand and increase their exposure. My passion for working with women owned businesses takes many different forms.
I am most proud of my digital guides that I have developed based on my love for writing and education. I love to help others and that is where my juices start flowing. I want followers to know we can raise a generation of healthier children by making easy swaps in our home.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I was raised in a very traditional family where success was defined by the amount of degrees you had hanging on your office wall. While that may work for some professions in regards to success, there are many people in this world that have created success out of nothing. What’s unique and exciting about success is that it can look different for everyone, and isn’t necessarily linear. It includes a lot of ups and downs and periods of growth at different rates.
I had to unlearn those traditional roles that my parents taught me and realize that I can be successful in many different ways, not just by going to school for years to do one thing, and then following that path for the rest of my life.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My ultimate goal or mission comes from my desire to help people. I went into teaching special education because I wanted to help children. Since retiring from teaching, I was able to take my side passion and pursue it full time. I am spreading knowledge online about clean ingredient products and safer choices when it comes to foods in order to ultimately inspire health and wellness for families.
