We were lucky to catch up with Ve’Lyncea Conner recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ve’Lyncea, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
There has never been a moment in my life where food has not been important! Yes, food is fuel, but for me, food is so much more. My mother is a chef, my father has always been in the food industry, and both of my grandmothers were cooks. It was inevitable that I become a successful small business owner crafting amazing spreads for people. I am an entrepreneur, so it’s not uncommon for me to have new ideas that combine something I enjoy with something that generates income. With V’s Charcuterie, it simply started out as a fun side hustle that has now grown into a thriving, high-demand business with such a loyal customer base. I love creating boxes, boards, tables and grazing bars for my friends and family. Before my business became what it is today, I reached out to my network of chefs and other charcuterie owners and even collaborated on a few events. The skills and knowledge gained from these individuals are invaluable, and I truly appreciate them for sharing with me their wealth of knowledge. Charcuterie is an art, so I had all the skills I needed. Thinking outside of the box is key. Being consistent is a non-negotiable. Providing your clients (even your friends and family) with an amazing experience from start to finish will set you apart from others who may be in the same industry as you.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
A passion of mine is enjoying good food with great people. I love to create tasty dishes that spark conversations. The simple joy of entertaining guests and loved ones blossomed into a thriving charcuterie business. I take pride in creating intricate and delicious meals on any given day. Why save elaborate meals for special occasions? My charcuterie journey began when a friend asked me to create a food tray for a baby shower she was attending. From there, another acquaintance asked for a charcuterie box. After a few more requests were made, my confidence grew, and I started sharing my work on social media. V’s Charcuterie is a thriving business that has taken off and isn’t stopping soon!
V’s Charcuterie is a luxury charcuterie business with a twist on your traditional charcuterie boards. I specialize in customized charcuterie boxes, boards, grazing tables, and trays. I have served everyone from your classic charcuterie lovers to vegetarians and vegans. What sets us apart is our freshness and customization. How often do you see a charcuterie board with seafood?
What I am most proud of, brand-wise, is our reputation. Product-wise, we are most known for our signature cheese dip. Who doesn’t love cheese dip? If you want a dessert tray, I’ve got you. Look no further if you want a combo of savory and sweet options! Are you looking for an elevated grazing table with shrimp cocktail, fresh fruit, and crudité? I am your go-to person!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My love language must be acts of service because my creativity is driven by doing things for others that bring them joy. When you are truly living out your purpose, you find so much joy, peace, and wholeness in what you are creating. And that will show through your work.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
There are many rewards that come with being an artist as it relates to charcuterie. I can think of three things: customer satisfaction, immediate gratification, and collaboration. Seeing my clients’ faces as they taste my offerings and how happy they are with my services makes me exude happiness. Turning a fold out table or two into an extravagant and elegant centerpiece of an event is so satisfying. Collaborating with other brands and businesses who align with my brand simply elevates all parties involved. My most recent collaboration is with Crazy Gander, a local coffee shop located in downtown Memphis. If you’re in the mood for a grab and go charcuterie box with a delicious iced latte, treat yourself at Crazy Gander!
