Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Matt Morgan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Matt thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Earlier in my career, I moved around a lot for work. I think at one point I lived in 11 different cities over a 10 year span. Each time I moved, I had to make new friends, and the easiest way for me to do so was to join a local gym that already had a close community. I was really into fitness, and friendly competition was my biggest motivator. Being able to challenge the friends I had made even after I moved away from a city helped me stay connected and stay in shape. Version one of Pro Fit was just that, a way for us to prove to each other how much progress we made, no matter where we were living. As time went on, I had friends and connections reach out asking to expand the capabilities of Pro Fit, which eventually turned it into a fully featured competition platform.


Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been building software for almost twenty years and love doing it, but my true passion lies in the people that use it. I want to help people with the software I build, and treat every one of our customers as a partner. I want them to love to use our software, and I want using our software to make their lives easier. I’ve always really valued customer support, and support from both ends builds a healthy business relationship and allows everyone to win in the end.


What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I’m truthfully not very good at selling any of the products I’ve built. My true strength is in building great software that works, and being obsessed with providing our customers everything they need to help their businesses succeed. I’ve always believed that if you can treat your customers as true partners, and provide an unparalleled level of service for them, your reputation in the industry will spread organically.


How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
A true SaaS platform should exist to bolster the businesses of the customers who use it. Over the years, Pro Fit was designed and built with our customers in mind. Every feature that is added is based on a customer need. Whenever a new need arises, we work together to make sure a solution is found and integrated. Customer obsession is a key component of the Pro Fit ideology and we strive to provide the highest level of support to our customers and, in turn, their customers as well.
