We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nichole Nicolet. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nichole below.
Alright, Nichole thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made (either in terms of time or money)? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best investment I’ve probably made is a high-quality scanner for my art. Most of my pieces are small, and the cost of having them professionally scanned really adds up over time. Since I make most of my sales from prints, being able to create high-quality scans myself has been such a game changer.
Before I got the scanner, I would’ve had to spend money and time on getting my artwork scanned professionally. It was a hassle and definitely ate into my profits. I realized that if I wanted to sustain my business and maximize my earnings, I needed to find a more efficient solution.
So, I did some research and invested in a nice scanner. It wasn’t cheap, but the upfront cost has paid for itself many times over. Now, I can quickly and easily scan my pieces at home, ensuring that I get the exact quality I want. Plus, it gives me more control over the final product, which is something I really value.
The biggest lesson I learned from this is the importance of investing in tools that help streamline your workflow and improve the quality of your output. Sometimes, it’s worth spending a bit more upfront to save time, money, and stress in the long run.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello there! I’m an artist based in Austin, Texas, and I specialize in creating unique pieces by drawing and painting on vintage book pages. My journey into this creative field has been a mix of passion, curiosity, and a love for blending the old with the new.
I got into this niche after exploring various mediums and discovering the charm and stories held within the pages of old books. I love the idea of giving these forgotten pages a new life and purpose through art. Each piece I create not only showcases my artistic vision but also carries the history and character of the original book.
I offer a range of products, primarily focusing on original artworks and high-quality prints. The original pieces are one-of-a-kind, each meticulously crafted to highlight the textures and nuances of the book pages. For those who want to enjoy my art at a more accessible price, I provide prints that maintain the intricate details and beauty of the originals.
One of the main problems I solve for my clients is providing unique, meaningful art that stands out. In a world filled with mass-produced prints and generic decorations, my pieces offer something truly distinctive and personal. They’re perfect for adding a touch of vintage elegance and individuality to any space.
What sets me apart is the fusion of literature and art. Each piece not only serves as visual art but also as a tribute to the literary world. The interplay between text and imagery adds depth and narrative, making each artwork a conversation starter and a piece of history.
I’m most proud of how my work resonates with people on an emotional level. Seeing my art bring joy, evoke memories, or spark inspiration in others is incredibly rewarding. It’s a testament to the power of art and storytelling.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that my work is a labor of love. I pour my heart into each piece, ensuring that it’s not just aesthetically pleasing but also rich in meaning and character. Whether you’re looking to add a unique piece to your collection or seeking a special gift, my art offers something that’s both beautiful and deeply personal.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my art. I’m excited to share my journey and creations with you, and I hope they bring as much joy to you as they do to me in creating them.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Sure, I’d love to share a pivotal moment in my journey. So I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2020 with a BFA in Performing Arts and a minor in Photography. My plan was to dive headfirst into the world of acting, but as we all know, 2020 had different plans for everyone. With the pandemic shutting down most projects and opportunities in the performing arts field, I found myself at a crossroads.
During this unexpected downtime, I decided to pick up drawing and painting again—something I had dabbled in during high school, specifically art on book pages. As I revisited this unique medium, I began experimenting more seriously. Through a lot of trial and error, I refined my technique and quickly found a deep passion for it. This niche style allowed me to merge my love for visual art with storytelling in a way I hadn’t anticipated.
Interestingly, my background in acting and photography has been incredibly valuable in this new venture. The skills I honed in those fields—such as understanding composition, lighting, and how to convey emotion—have all translated beautifully into creating compelling visual art and content for social media. It wasn’t what I originally envisioned using my degrees for, but it’s been an exciting and fulfilling journey.
This pivot taught me the importance of adaptability and finding new ways to apply your skills. It showed me that sometimes the path you end up on can be even more rewarding than the one you initially planned. By embracing the unexpected and being open to change, I found a new creative outlet that has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the opportunity to share my art with others and witness the joy it brings when someone connects with my pieces. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about creating a work of art and seeing it resonate with someone on a personal level. It’s like a piece of my own soul has found a home with someone else.
When people see my art and feel a connection—whether it evokes a memory, sparks an emotion, or simply brings a smile to their face—that’s when I feel the most gratified. Knowing that my work can have a positive impact and bring a bit of beauty and meaning into someone’s life is truly the greatest reward.
