Starting fini was, without a doubt, the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. Diving headfirst into the uncertain waters of entrepreneurship was both exhilarating and terrifying. The idea for fini came to me during a particularly reflective period in my life. I had always been passionate about health and wellness, but it was during a meditation session on the beach that I realized just how fragmented and inaccessible the wellness industry was. There were so many incredible resources out there, but they were scattered and often out of reach for the average person.
This realization sparked a vision: to create a platform that would bring together health and wellness creators, offering them the tools they needed to connect, share, and inspire, while also providing individuals with easy access to the resources they needed to live longer, healthier, and happier lives. It was a bold idea, and it required me to make a huge leap of faith.
Building a company from 0-to-1 meant assembling a passionate team, navigating countless obstacles and unknowns I never anticipated. Every day brought new challenges and moments of doubt. But I believe so deeply in fini’s mission that I couldn’t let fear hold me back.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been watching fini grow from a simple idea into a vibrant, supportive community. Seeing creators flourish on our platform and hearing stories from individuals who have transformed their lives through fini has been incredibly fulfilling. We’ve created something that truly makes a difference, and that makes all the risks and sacrifices worthwhile.
Taking the leap to build Fini was a monumental risk, but it’s one that has paid off in ways I never imagined. Before starting fini, I worked in B2B enterprise SaaS as a product manager. During a reflective period in my life, I realized how fragmented the wellness industry was—there were so many amazing resources, but they were often out of reach for the average person. Building a product from 0-to-1 is a journey filled with unexpected turns and necessary pivots, and our story at fini is no exception. One of the most significant pivots we made was in our early days when we initially launched as a goal-tracking app.
The goal-tracking app was designed to help individuals set, track, and achieve their wellness goals. We believed that by providing a tool to monitor progress, we could inspire people to live healthier and happier lives. While the concept was well-received, we quickly realized that our approach was too narrow and didn’t fully address the broader needs of our users.
As we gathered feedback from our community, it became clear that people were looking for more than just a tracking tool. They wanted a comprehensive platform that could connect them with wellness creators, provide personalized content, and foster a supportive community. They needed a space where they could not only track their goals but also find inspiration, education, and connection.
Recognizing this gap, we made a massive pivot in the business. We shifted our focus from being a simple goal-tracking app to becoming a dynamic wellness platform. This new direction allowed us to address the diverse needs of health and wellness creators and consumers more effectively. We developed tools for content creation, audience engagement, and monetization, and built a community where creators and consumers could connect and thrive together.
This pivot was challenging and required us to rethink our entire business model, technology stack, and user experience. It was a leap of faith, but it was also a necessary step to achieve product-market fit. The decision to pivot was driven by our commitment to truly understanding and serving our users’ needs.
Today, fini is a vibrant ecosystem that supports health and wellness creators and provides valuable resources to individuals seeking to improve their well-being. This transformation wouldn’t have been possible without the willingness to listen, adapt, and pivot when necessary.
