We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Roneshia B. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Roneshia , thanks for joining us today. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
Before I completely Launched my cleaning business I was actually taking a lash extension course as well and to make some conversation with my Instructor (Crystal Taylor) I shared with her about starting my own cleaning business “Maid w/a Twist” in the midst of our conversation, I then learned that she was a AIRBNB Host and she was willing to support me in return by giving me the opportunity to clean her Airbnb. She also invited me to 1 of her small seminars to introduce myself and my business to her class . We did business quite often with 1 another and my business begin to take off immediately which gave me comfort and motivation That I was going in the right direction with my business , it doesn’t get more excited than that !

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a Texas Girl , Fort Worth to be exact ! I come from a Big family and talented family as well . I now have my own little family Who are my children that are my biggest purpose and motivation for being a Entrepreneur/Business owner . I want them to be well educated on the Perks of being a business owner VS working for someone else all their life . When I was younger around 18-19 My grandmother use to clean small office buildings and we would help her every week . Although we were helping her for free it was easy work , not too much labor and I definitely seen the profit she was getting out of it which is what inspired me to go into business for myself . Maid w/ a Twist is the name of my cleaning business , we offer Commercial cleanings ,Airbnb Turnovers and Mobile laundry services . 1 of the things I personally enjoy the most is doing everything to help Airbnb host receive good reviews and ratings for their units . We all know staying in a clean hotel/Airbnbs is one of the MAIN necessities customers look forward to . I would say I’m most proud of my discipline within myself to not give up on my business I think sometimes I’n the beginning some of us focus too much on how much support we get or how slow or fast it’s coming when really you just have to have faith , keep going and everything will fall into place . I would like all of my supporters and followers to know that Maid w/a Twist will always be here , we will always continue to find new ways to improve and grow . We’re not all about just profiting but building relationships with our clients and accommodating their needs when it comes to our services .

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Presentation is everything so 1 of the 1st things I did was purchase a custom logo . I then started introducing my business by posting a lot and tagging my social media friends to create traffic on my page and business page so that my Brand and services can attract potential customers . Once my business page was created I learned you could pay for social media ads . We often see several well known businesses randomly in our time lines such as SHEIN, COACH , Tommy Hilfiger even , just to name a few advertising their merchandise. I realized I couldn’t spend all my time on social media so I got the hang of creating ads which is pretty easy and very beneficial it attracts even more engagements to your business and what it has to offer . So while I’m sleeping through the night my business is showing up in different people time lines and I’m waking ip to inquiries and bookings , it’s that simple !
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective Strategy that has grown my clientele is focusing on the Value for our clients and building relationship in order to receive value in return from our clients & dwelling on their satisfaction.
