We recently connected with Seth Bunting and have shared our conversation below.
Seth, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
My most meaningful project I’ve worked on to date has to be my upcoming EP “Words in my Mouth.” Im excited to share a lot of my creative freedom with the fans finally! There was so much passion and transparency poured into this project, main lyrical narrations on how to accept and overcome hurt in heartbreak, friendships, work, etc. and getting back up on your feet again. I always had creative input but this is the first project I’ve been involved in every process, from writing every melody, recording my own vocals to producing the record with my brother, Tyler Bunting, to booking the LA tour in July 2024. So much activity and focus it takes to be an indie artist, but when you get share your music with the world and watch it resonate with people in real time, its so worth it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I grew up in a small town in WV, Boone County, singing gospel music and doing musical theater. It wasn’t until my early teens I decided to be a full time music artist and moved to Nashville to pursue a professional music career by 16 years old! This was a major risk, but I’ve been living my dreams now for almost 10 years, songwriting, studio sessions, entertaining, etc. I feel like in the time I’ve lived here I’ve rediscovered myself and my art through music, which completely shifted my career path over covid when we decided to switch my main genre to pop. Such an authentic sound for me and I couldn’t have done it without the support from my fans. They have listened and stayed with me through it all. Go check out the growth from my debut release til now and you can hear a real evolution in not only my voice but my writing and videos. I love performing live music the most, the connection with the fans is unmatched when your eye to eye being vulnerable on stage. How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Since I started music full time, the industry landscape has changed drastically. I grew up in an era of burning CD copies and uploading demos to myspace, never imagined I would turn into a full time musician made model influencer dancer videographer photographer jack of all trades! To do a job like this, it is underestimated how many hats you must wear. You never know how much work was put into the album youre listening to, or the show youre watching on stage. The most effective way to support an indie artist is by being present. Present in the moment, present in their career with engagement, showing up to their shows, buying merchandise, sharing their music with your friends. Most help comes for free, acknowledgment is unmeasurable.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Growing an online presence can be hard, but being yourself goes a long way. There’s a small social anxiety mask I wear in public a lot, im getting better about it, but when I first started short video content I had to break down the wall between the viewer and I, and I saw so much more relatability in my own videos resonating with the audience. Share POVs of things your interested in, share your creative process and info on it. Have fun with it, don’t take it too seriously. People just want to know they’re not alone in their interests. Your audience will find you.
