We were lucky to catch up with Greg Kirk recently and have shared our conversation below.
Greg, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
We both have backgrounds in the creative/artistic path. After graduating high school, Aries planned to attend SCAD for photography. However, it didn’t pan out. Prior to applying to Clayton State to pursue a degree in Communications and Media Studies, Aries worked on some local productions throughout the metro area. Greg’s journey was a little different from Aries. With a flare for music and artistry, I was a rapper/performer and wrote R&B songs for up and coming artists in Atlanta. When my dreams of being a musician didn’t go according to plan, I had to pivot which led me to Clayton State as an English major with an emphasis in creative writing. Fast forward to our social media journey. Because we are both creatives at heart, embarking on our social media journey was something we believed would benefit us and the supporters we influence with our content.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Greg’s sister was an avid vlog watcher on Youtube. She loved the Royal Family (Queen and Clarence NYC). She started to tell Aries and I that we look good, have a beautiful family, and that we would do well on YouTube. After going back and forth about if we should or should not become content creators, despite Aries reluctance… Greg made an executive decision to try their luck at social media. We jumped on YouTube without a purpose. We were doing movie reviews, vlogs, and following trends of other YouTubers, but felt we couldn’t really find our voice or our niche so to speak. The entire time, we were praying asking God to use us and led us into our purpose. We wanted to be able to create content that made positive deposits into our supporters. We believe that God led us to creating videos depicting what a marriage looks like when He is the foundation.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal/mission is that when people see us, they see Jesus Christ.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being able to positively impact the lives of our supporters. So many people DM us wanting to discuss how we prioritize Jesus in our marriage, what works in our marriage, and if we are willing to share our marital journey with them. Supporters also reach out to receive counsel on challenges and situations that arise in their own marriages. Overall, we do not take our position lightly. We always lead with asking God for guidance to use us through every situation and every interaction so that He gets all the glory through His using us.
