We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shannon Earls a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Shannon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
In 2018, I was working at senior resource center as a resource specialist. I was responsible for updating different organizations within the system, and answering phone calls. I knew early on that this was not the job for me. I began to dread going to work. I would also suffer from breakdowns at work where I would go to the bathroom and cry. My anxiety was through the roof! In 2023, I would create Dare2Shyne, a company with the sole purpose of educating women on how to shine their light through dark moments in their lives. It is imperative that women learn how to take back their power by utilizing radical concepts to gain mental clarity.

Shannon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello, my name is Shannon Earls and I am the founder of Dare2Shyne. I am a mental health coach and a motivational speaker specializing in cultivating mental health for women while combining elements of self-love and self-care. While sharing my own story with mental health challenges, I have learned to take back my power by utilizing self-love, self-care, and self-compassion to gain mental clarity, and purpose, and find my passion. I offer coaching sessions which include: stress management techniques, mindfulness exercises, and self-care management.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I would say that a lesson that I had to unlearn is that it’s okay that I’m not where everyone else is in life. I’m a late bloomer. While everyone was getting married and having kids, I was more career-driven. I learned that everyone is in a different chapter of their lives, and I don’t have to feel like I’m behind in life. I want to learn to embrace every experience in my life and know that everything has an appointed time when it should happen.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I graduated from high school, I thought I had my career all figured out. I had planned to enroll in the radiology program and become an X-ray technician. I wanted a profession that would pay big bucks to afford the trips I desired, a house, a car, etc. Well, unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way. I didn’t get into the radiology program because somehow my paperwork for the program got lost. I was devasted! I mean I was crying in the admissions office at the school. I thought it was the end of the world. After I had my pity party, I decided to use the skills that I previously learned as a dental assistant and worked in pediatric dentistry. One thing I had to realize was that just because my plans didn’t pan out the way I wanted them to didn’t mean that it was the end of the world, or that I wouldn’t be able to live the lifestyle that I wanted to live. Sometimes you have to let the universe guide you to where you were destined to be.
