We recently connected with Joe Aboud and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Joe thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Truthfully, starting my own business wasn’t originally in the cards. I took on a consulting client, which snowballed into a few clients. After about six months, I decided I needed to do some research and take the steps to make my business official on the legal & tax side… At that point, I was still unsure if I wanted to lean into the business full-time or try to keep it going as a side project. I’m grateful that work kept coming to me after word had spread that I was taking on projects for hire, and my decision was made for me – I knew that I had to double down and build out the company. In the 12 months following, I spent a lot of time perfecting the branding, logo, website, and hiring my first employee. Fast forward to 2024, and I decided to officially “announce” the company industry-wide. All in all, it’s been about a 2-year process and there has been a TON of admin work along the way (not the most sexy part of the job) but the journey has been rewarding!
Joe, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My background is in music marketing & streaming. After managing the acquisition of the last record label I worked at, I set out to build a company that was a one-stop shop for artists, managers and labels who needed extra support. At 444 Sounds, we aim to identify and fill the gaps for our clients to help them develop and expand their fanbase. We work with artists and companies in all genres and at all stages of their careers.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Working hard! I give my all to my clients, and there’s a constant feedback loop to make sure that everyone feels tended to and cared for. I only work with artists I believe in which helps maintain a level of quality in my roster.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I’m proud to say that most of 444 Sounds’ work has stemmed from word-of-mouth and past client referrals. Our consistency in delivering results has brought us a steady stream of business.
