We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sarah Pappas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sarah below.
Alright, Sarah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Some of the most interesting parts of our journey emerge from areas where we believe something that most people in our industry do not – do you have something like that?
I believe that women inherently do business differently. As a female business owner, I’ve had to use a lot of “masculine energy” to get where I am. The Masculine energies of Logic, Competition, Discipline, Strength, Grit, Perseverance, Tenacity – Getting Stuff Done – YES! These all have their place in business. AS WELL AS the Feminine energies of Intuition, Creativity, Collaboration, Flexibility, Empathy, Abundance, Attraction, Receptivity. Long term success depends on the inclusion and balancing of BOTH ENERGIES and the smart business person, regardless of gender, is able to access them both.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

How did you build your audience on social media?
As a Gen X business owner, I realize the importance of my social media presence, but that doesn’t mean it comes naturally to me. Social media is necessary, but it’s not the only thing that matters. It needs to play a healthy role in every business because clients will use your social media to develop a credible story about you. And business moves at the speed of trust.
I believe the winning combo for social presence are these three things: authenticity, vulnerability, and value. If you provide these on a regular basis, you will see your following and influence grow.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I am a huge believer in self-development. One of my core beliefs is that “Your business grows to the extent that you grow.” So if you want your business to keep growing, you’ve got to have a plan for your personal growth as well! Personal growth starts with being open to change, and putting new thoughts and ideas into your mind. These can come from books, seminars, podcasts, or by listening and associating with people who are where you want to be.
I started my personal growth journey with my library card. I borrowed books and CD’s at first. When my business started to grow, I invested in attending trade conferences and personal growth seminars. My favorite books at first included Go for No, Miracle Morning, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, The Magic of Thinking Big, and How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling, The Greatest Salesman in the World and anything by John Maxwell.
Through personal growth, I have become a better wife, parent, leader, mentor, friend, coach, and business owner.
Today, I am a Tony Robbins Platinum Partner and have attended over 12 Tony Robbins live events and am excited to attend my first Joe Dispenza live event this fall!
