Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Braulio Lam. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Braulio, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I enjoy the idea of being an electronic producer, because while I’m making music and arranging it, I’m also elaborating a concept. I listen to many different types of music genres that are very diverse and sometimes polarized and with this project, my main focus was the incorporation of these broad ideas in my own musical project.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a music producer and photographer from the border region of Tijuana and San Diego. I’ve been active in the Tijuana/San Diego music scene as a guitarist and member with local jazz and rock bands, and electronic music projects since 2013. I define my current sound as ambient soundscapes, guitar loops, and voice processing.
Besides my experimentation with music, I also explore concepts with photography and I’ve been obsessed with 35mm film for the past 5 years. I’ve been messing around with different types of film speeds (ISO) and with colors or the absence of it (Color/Black and white). Also, I’ve been using different lightning (White Balance films, daylight, and tungsten). By playing and experimenting around with these two fields (music and film) as an artist, the main concept of their album came to life.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
For me the most important aspect that I do is to see music not as a job because it is my passion, and passion should not imply any struggle. The things that I do, I believe, are more honest and can be more unique.
Can you talk to us about your experience with buying businesses?
About music, my most recently solo work, called “ISO”. The production of this entire album was made and arranged between 2014 and 2020 and even though some of the recordings took several years to be polished and finished, I believe the tracks have the same concept and a similar vibe from beginning to end. In these recordings I also used more hardware and analog equipment and avoided using virtual instruments, VST’s, or digital effects as much as possible.
