We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Krista Hudson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Krista, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share an anecdote or story from your schooling/training that you feel illustrates what the overall experience was like?
Discovering the power of coaching through iPEC was nothing short of life-changing for me. It wasn’t just a career choice; it was a profound shift in perspective that has resonated through every aspect of my life.
Before delving into the world of coaching, I was navigating life on autopilot, largely unaware of the patterns and beliefs shaping my actions and reactions. iPEC’s coaching training slowly help me discover how unconsciously I was living. I became aware of insights and realizations that I never knew existed. Suddenly, I was no longer reacting to life’s challenges; I was actively engaging with them, empowered to shape my own narrative.
One of the most profound revelations was recognizing my tendency to play the victim in certain situations. Through iPEC’s coaching techniques, I learned to step into a place of ownership and agency, understanding how my thoughts and behaviors influenced outcomes. This newfound awareness didn’t just benefit me; it allowed me to empathize with others more deeply, fostering stronger connections and more meaningful relationships.
But perhaps the greatest gift of all was the impact on my role as a parent. Previously, I had been caught in the trap of people-pleasing, prioritizing others’ needs above my own and inadvertently passing on that behavior to my children. However, armed with the insights gained from iPEC, I shifted my focus inward, learning to prioritize self-care and authenticity. This shift not only transformed my own life, but also equipped me with the tools to guide my children through their own challenges, teaching them the importance of self-love and self-advocacy.
Now, as I embark on this journey as a coach, I do so with a profound sense of purpose and passion. Every interaction is an opportunity to empower others to uncover their own truths and live authentically. I have found my calling.
I cannot imagine a more fulfilling path than guiding others toward their own moments of transformation and empowerment.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
After having my first son, I decided I wanted to stay home and raise my kids. I also wanted to help contribute financially, so I opened an in home daycare. I had many children come and go throughout the years, and really loved what I did! However, I as I had more children myself, the weight of watching kids all day and night became very overwhelming. I wasn’t making a lot of money. I was dealing with a lot of baggage from other families and children. I didn’t know how to effectively deal with them and was overweight, and unhealthy. After having my third child, a girl, and COVID hitting, it served as a reset for my life. I realized that I was unhappy in my career, and didn’t find much fulfillment with it. I was not showing up for my children as well as I had hoped, and I was not a healthy role model physically, mentally or emotionally. My husband and I were hanging on by a thread, and were both living almost separate lives; me tending to the children, and him moving up in his company.
After investing in a weight loss program, I started to find my confidence again. I joined iPEC and haven’t looked back since. It helped create an open and conscious mind that I hope to help others discover and thrive within.
I am a CORE Energy Life Coach, whose mission is to help overwhelmed and busy moms overcome burnout and create the life they truly desire. By focusing on their well-being and personal growth, I help foster a healthy balance between motherhood and self-awareness and acceptance.
Motherhood is a rewarding journey, but it can also be exhausting and overwhelming. Juggling multiple roles and responsibilities often leaves little time for Moms. This can lead to burnout, stress, and a sense of loss of identity outside of being a mom. Many moms struggle to find the energy and clarity to pursue their own passions and dreams. Limiting beliefs and unrecognized values also cloud judgment from truly living the lives women genuinely want.
As a CORE Energy Life Coach, I am here to guide clients through a transformative process that helps regain lost energy, rediscover personal identity, and create a life that reflects one’s true self. My coaching approach focuses on:
Well-being Restoration: Implement strategies to manage stress, improve physical health, and boost overall energy levels.
Personal Growth: Explore and develop CORE values, passions, and aspirations, ensuring growth as an individual.
Balanced Living: Learn how to balance the demands of motherhood with personal goals and self-care practices.
Self-awareness and Acceptance: Cultivate a deeper understanding of oneself, embracing strengths and areas for growth with compassion and acceptance.
What sets me apart from others is that I have, and continue to live, in that role of Motherhood. I have personally struggled with burnout, exhaustion, and overwhelm. I have also created a healthy balance of Motherhood, self awareness and self care while working on fostering an even better relationship with my husband. I am empathetic to those Moms struggling, because I have been there and know how hard it is. I lived a life for others, but have found that living a life for myself only makes me a better Mom, Wife, Friend and individual. I am empowered to share that with all Mothers, no matter where they find themselves in Motherhood.
My work is my passion. It is my goal to empower women to have a voice. To show up as their authentic selfs, to live the dreams they dream and to enjoy the beautiful journey that is Motherhood while not losing themselves within the adventure.
I am most proud of my family. I have been inspired by my children and how resilient and capable they are. They all make me laugh all the time and I am in awe of their never ending kindness to others. I am extremely proud of the work my husband has done within his company but also on himself. His personal growth journey has been transformational and I am so glad to have been along side him on that journey. Many challenges have come our way, but we have all been strong and persevered together.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn, and am continuously working on, is that of people pleasing. I grew up thinking in order to be a good person, one must do things for others; Even if that meant going against a persons feelings or beliefs.
One example of this is when I had decided I was not taking more children for the daycare. I had decided to slowly close the daycare, and one of the ways I was going to do that was to take on less babies, allowing the other children to age up into school. A family within the daycare unexpectedly became pregnant and asked if I would watch the baby. I said “no.” A few months later, they asked again, and guilt and shame set in. I decided to “be a good person” and help them out. However, I felt resentment and frustration after saying yes. I realized in saying “yes” I wasn’t being true to myself, but also found that I was showing up unconsciously with bitter feelings towards the family.
The lesson I learned was to say No when I want to say no. Stay true to myself and be authentic. Not allowing guilt and shame to control me, now allows me to live my life to the fullest and still be a good person.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Aside from the training and knowledge I received, I think being able to step outside my comfort zone has been instrumental in succeeding in coaching. By stepping outside of my comfort zone it helped me grow, innovate, and build confidence. One way I stepped outside my comfort zone was to begin networking. In doing so, I have met so many wonderful people from all different backgrounds and modalities. It has allowed me to make bonds with others both inside and outside my field. In networking, I met and hired my own coach who has inspired me to push myself and grow my business when I have felt completely unsure and afraid. Networking has expanded my knowledge, resources, and opportunities. Stepping outside of my comfort zone and networking have been instrumental in not only advancing my coaching career but also in providing the best possible support and guidance for me and my business.
