We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Emily Kady. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Emily below.
Emily , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
From a young age, I always felt different—more sensitive, more emotional, and more attuned to the world around me. Despite these feelings, I followed the path society laid out, believing that success meant going to college, securing a stable job, climbing up the corporate ladder, and eventually retiring comfortably. This was the “American Dream” I pursued, hoping it would bring me fulfillment and happiness.
But the reality was different. Corporate America drained me. I was exhausted, both physically and emotionally. I lived for the weekends, not for enjoyment, but just to recover from the exhausting week. There was no passion, no joy—just a lingering sense of emptiness.
Monday mornings were dreadful, but Sunday afternoons filled me with the most anxiety. By 3 p.m., my nerves were already on edge, anticipating the work week ahead.
My anxious uncertainty was palpable—so much so that my managers picked up on my unease and lack of confidence, ultimately leading to my being laid off not once, but twice from my corporate jobs. Each time, my confidence was shattered. However, I would pick myself up, find another job, and repeat the cycle, but deep down, I knew something had to change.
It was during this period of self-reflection that I came to a profound realization. I am an Empath, a highly sensitive and intuitive person, far too sensitive for Corporate America’s cutthroat nature. It became clear that my true calling was not aligned with the “American Dream.”

For folks who may not have read about you before, can you please tell our readers about yourself, how you got into your industry / business / discipline / craft etc, what type of products/services/creative works you provide, what problems you solve for your clients and/or what you think sets you apart from others. What are you most proud of and what are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you/your brand/your work/ etc.

Many of my clients struggle with managing intense emotions and sensory input, and I provide them with the tools and techniques to handle these challenges effectively. I also teach methods to protect oneself from negative influences and toxic environments.
A significant part of my work involves helping clients embrace their sensitivity and see it as a gift rather than a hindrance.
What sets me apart in this field is my deep empathy and understanding of the unique challenges and strengths of highly sensitive people. As a highly sensitive person myself, I relate to my clients’ experiences on a personal level.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
My turning point came in my last job. It began with a supportive manager who recognized my sensitivity as a strength. She helped rebuild my confidence, and for a moment, I felt I had FINALLY found my place. But then, things changed. She started using the same demoralizing tactics I had faced before. Once again, I found myself on the brink of being laid off.
In that pivotal moment, I decided to embrace who I am fully. I accepted that I am not cut out for Corporate America, and that’s okay. I finally decided to pursue a new way of living—a life where I didn’t dread the week ahead, where my weekends weren’t spent in anxious recovery.
I made the terrifying decision to step out of the false comfort zone of the steady paycheck to follow my calling.
It was time for me to come out of my spiritual closet, face potential judgment, and take a financial risk to start my own spiritual consulting business. Leaving behind the comfort of a regular paycheck felt like jumping off a cliff into the unknown. I had bills to pay, and the fear of financial instability loomed large.
The steady paycheck I had relied on for years was no longer there to provide a safety net. I had to trust that my passion and skills would sustain me, despite the uncertainty that loomed over me.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
During my most fearful times, I leaned heavily on my WHY. The thought of never having to work for someone else again, never enduring belittlement from a manager, and finally being in control of my own destiny was my guiding light. I was done with the days of feeling demoralized and undervalued.
My WHY was my freedom—to live authentically, to help others discover their power, and to build a life that aligned with my true self.
Week by week, month by month, I started to get noticed. I was invited as a guest on podcasts, people reached out to share how my story touched their lives, and new clients began booking my services. Each new client was a victory, a testament to my being on the right path. My leap of faith began to pay off.
Resilience is about pushing through the hardest times and finding strength in the midst of fear. For me, it meant facing financial instability head-on, stepping out of hiding, getting in front of people, and trusting in my ability to build something meaningful.
It was about staying true to my WHY and using it as my anchor during uncertain times.
There were moments when doubt and fear almost overwhelmed me. But each time, I reminded myself of the life I wanted to create. I wanted to live a life where I could be my authentic self, where my sensitivity was celebrated, not condemned. I wanted to help others like me find their power and live fulfilling lives. This vision was my beacon, guiding me through the darkest times.
Today, I look back on my journey with immense gratitude. My business has not only survived but is now thriving. I no longer dread Mondays; instead, I wake up each day excited to connect with my clients and help them on their paths. My weekends are filled with joy, not anxiety.
If you feel like you don’t fit into the mainstream mold, if you’re drained and searching for your true purpose, know that you’re not alone. I’ve walked that path, and I found my way out by embracing my authentic self. You can, too.
