We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shane Ray a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Shane , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

I have Been jamming in bars in big cities to small towns my entire whole adult life. I had to up the ante, so I moved where everyone other damn musician does, the music mecca, Nashville. Turns out, it is not easy. But in many ways a journey of self-discovery. I will say the risk is still sky-high, but man, the payoff, even if it’s just starting to trickle in, beats playing it safe any day. I Stand by that.

Hey, I’m Shane Mulhall. Been playing guitar and writing songs for as long as I can remember. Decided to take music seriously and ended up in Nashville. Found my groove with Ducky Neptune and the gang, and we’ve been cooking up what we like to call “psychedelic Surf soul.” It’s a mix of all our musical influences, and somehow, it just works. We’re always writing and working on our craft.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect is playing live and getting to share what we have created and what we continue to create. Music is best when shared. Right?

i mess with crypto, have not made much. Have not lost much either. It is like playing the stock market for broke artists.
