We were lucky to catch up with Crash.N recently and have shared our conversation below.
Crash.N, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The first time I knew I wanted to pursue music was when me and my friends auditioned for the school talent show. We practiced everyday for weeks doing rehearsals. Then the big day came and we recruited a guitar player ,John Snow, impromptu and everyone was listening to the song but then I got on stage and started rapping and the crowd exploded. No one could hear what I was saying cause the mic was too close to my mouth haha but they felt the energy and talked about it for weeks! That energy and reaction is when I knew.

Crash.N, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I basically originally got into production by watching videos of “THE NEPTUNES” on YouTube. It really just opened my eyes to possibilities and although I’m an all around creative and was in love with writing books first music had a hold on me since my younger years. I offer songwriting services so I assist with pre-established works or completely original works. I also assist in productions. I also offer performances for venues. The thing that I’m proud of is my ability to help anyone. No matter what it is I am able to offer insight or contribute. I enjoy being there to help create something people can enjoy and be proud of.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Having my ideas start as nothing and come to fruition. Also having people relate to it and my ideas aka songs help people get a different perspective.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Teach creatives how to survive creatively. What I mean is make the world more friendly to artist so they can make a living off of their art. It’s hard having a 9-5 and trying to be a creative full time. Most days at the end of the day you have to push through even if you are burnt out. Sometimes that doesn’t work and you end up with nothing. We just need more freedom and space to nourish our gifts without worrying how we can pay our bills.
