We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ekaterina Erofeeva. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ekaterina below.
Ekaterina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I manage my social media myself, sticking only to Instagram and my website. It is extremely time-consuming, but as a visual artist, I need to showcase my photography to my audience regularly. Additionally, I like my web spaces to reflect my personality. This is my art, these are my visions, and I want to have full freedom and control over how I express them.

Ekaterina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was born in 1981 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. I started my journey at Saint Petersburg State University, where I got a Master’s Degree in Psychology. Eventually, I transitioned into a mixed media artist, gaining recognition for my unique handmade jewelry at various festivals. In 2014, my family and I moved to California. A couple of years later, I decided to pursue my interest in photography.
Over time, my passion for art, portraits, and the black and white aesthetic emerged, defining my artistic style in photography. I’ve been fortunate to have my work featured in several magazines and successfully sold my art in galleries. Currently, I’m involved in several ongoing projects, continuing to explore and expand my creative boundaries.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe several factors have helped me build my reputation within my market. My professionalism and commitment to exceeding expectations have always been cornerstones of my work ethic. My creativity and unique vision set my work apart, offering a one-of-a-kind approach that resonates with my audience. Additionally, I constantly study and stay updated with the latest trends and techniques, ensuring my skills and perspectives are always evolving.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is that it makes me happy and true to myself. It also allows me to meet interesting people and visit beautiful places, which enriches my life and creativity. Plus, it never bores me—there’s always something new to explore and create.
