Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brian Reynolds. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brian, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
My first client was The Prince of Praise Byron Cage, and here is the back story. A minister at a church that I was member of, who was always kind and polite to me and I wanted to bless her with a meal. I stated to her that she could invite 2 other people to enjoy the meal with her, and those people were her daughter and mother Cage, who happened to be The Prince of Praise Byron Cage’s mother. After enjoying their meal, mother Cage mentioned that her son Byron was looking for a personal private chef, and she introduced us and I instantly became his chef, preparing his meals for him for a few years.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have been called the “King of Culinary”, and I have been a chef for over 30 years. I became a household name with my impressive background of culinary training and my unique personable charm. I continue to improve my skills and talent not only in the Atlanta area, but with great success as I travel across the US. I come from a generation of great chefs. My father Chef Joe Reynolds and my uncles were all outstanding Executive Chefs, so it was only natural that I felt an instant connection to the culinary industry, and the lessons I learned, I taught to my son who is now a third generation chef. I provide a personal private chef service that caters to high profile clientele and all types of services such as, weddings, baby showers, bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, bachelorette/bachelor parties. I am most proud of my accomplishments as a chef with the Atlanta Falcons for a few seasons, working at St. Regis Hotel and Residency that allowed me to provide my service for Oprah Winfrey, Danny Glover, and catered Steve Harvey’s daughter’s wedding. Catered an event for the entire Winans’ family. Catered Civil Right Leader and Ambassador Andrew Young’s 85th birthday and Leadership Awards Ceremony. Partnered with Usher Raymond’s mother, Mrs. Johnetta Patton to cater to Northside Hospital during the Pandemic, providing over 2,000 meals for the frontline workers. and catering Tyler Perry’s grand opening and motion picture film catering and so much more.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
My advice would be to always appreciate my staff, and to always encourage and thank them for their hard work and dedication.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth! Having clients that I have cooked for, sharing my information with others, looking for my style of exceptional chef service.
