We recently connected with Brittany Gee and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I’ve never been a huge risk taker; I prefer to play it safe and like stability in my life. Recently however, I have taken one of the biggest risks I will likely ever take by starting my own business and launching my company, Revive Functional Nutrition.
I’ve worked in nutrition for over eight years and have both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences and have practiced in multiple settings including hospital, gyms, private in-home, and concierge care clinics. Throughout my working years and experience in these different settings, I have learned that my passion lies in functional nutrition and treating underlying symptoms through nutritional interventions. This passion grew when I furthered my studies in functional nutrition and began my CNS (Certified Nutrition Specialist) national credentialing program.
Throughout these studies, while enlightening, I discovered that functional nutrition is still largely misunderstood and rather than getting to the root of health issues, our healthcare system is repeatedly only treating symptoms with medications. The result then acts only as a band-aid and leads to further health issues that return with time. This realization gave me the desire to create nutritional interventions and custom programs for those needing more help than the current healthcare system could offer them, and this is how Revive Functional Nutrition was born.
My business is very new, opening in February of 2024 and is the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. It’s also the most fulfilling risk I’ve ever taken at this point in my life. I love being able to help my clients take power back in their lives through fully customized nutrition programs, whether they struggle with weight, hormone health, chronic fatigue, gut health…etc. Along with my Medical Director, we are able to help those that have tried many different routes of treatment with an integrative nutritional approach to their health. While this is the greatest risk I’ve ever taken, I’m extremely hopeful that Revive Functional Nutrition will be able to help countless people take their lives back and optimize their health and wellness.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been in the nutrition industry for over eight years with an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences and Sports Management from The University of Arizona. While my education here introduced me to the basic concepts of nutrition, functional nutrition did not exist at the time, so I was left wanting more. I knew I did not want to work in a hospital since I had already tried this working in the nutrition department as a diet technician. After graduating with my undergraduate, I started off by offering my nutrition services in gyms since I am also a Certified Personal Trainer. I still found however that while my clients appreciated my efforts, this still wasn’t the level of nutrition intervention I was interested in.
My first introduction to functional nutrition was in my graduate program in which I earned my Master’s degree in Medical Nutrition from Arizona State University. Here, I learned of the different ways we as nutrition practitioners can treat health conditions through a more natural, nutritional approach and this was the start of my passion for functional nutrition. After offering functional nutrition services within several different concierge clinic settings over the past couple years, I decided in January that I wanted to go off on my own and create my own brand. I began my supervising program to become nationally certified in functional nutrition as a CNS (Certified Nutrition Specialist) which I will complete in the next year and officially combined forces with my integrative Medical Director to open Revive Functional Nutrition!
At ReviveFN, we offer a comprehensive review of functional nutrition labs, history and goals. Our testing can range from blood tests, to Dutch testing, to stool tests, all which are specifically recommended based on the client’s concerns and goals. We see many chronic fatigue, hormone imbalance, gut inflammatory conditions, and even the simpler weight loss cases. Programs may include medical grade supplements (both oral and injectable), IV nutrition therapy, gut healing peptides/medications, GLP-1/GIP medications for insulin resistance, custom micro-macronutrient focused meal plans, and weekly nutrition coaching. All of these programs are completely customized so no one client will have the same recommendations as another, and this is what sets Revive Functional Nutrition apart from the typical nutrition-based service. We try our hardest to get to the route of our client’s concerns and symptoms rather than just “guessing” what the problem may be. The result is then long-lasting success for their health.
From my company and I, the main point I would like to get across to the public and any potential clients is that it does NOT have to be your “normal” to feel like crap. We dance around talking about our health and pretend we feel fine when fine is not good enough. We want you to feel AMAZING and that is why we are different. I’m very proud of the fact that our main goal is to help our clients feel their best. Our focus is high-quality, individualized care where you don’t just feel like another patient walking into a waiting room full of other patients. I invite all potential clients to experience the difference with Revive Functional Nutrition and embark on a journey to unlock their body’s full potential. Work with us at ReviveFN and welcome to a new era of personalized nutritional wellness!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth! My main focus with my clients is making them feel like they are not just another customer that I’m trying to get in and out as fast as I can. I set aside plenty of time with every client (averaging an hour per client) so they are able to share their full health story with me and I am able to ask all the detailed questions I need. We then form a relationship that’s much more than just practitioner/patient relationship.
It can be difficult for people to share these details about their lives and health so making them feel heard and developing the rapport and relationship with them is key for growth. All of my clients thus far have been through word of mouth and personal success stories and recommendations. The benefits and clientele growth of word of mouth and positive client experience has by far outweighed any other strategies for my business.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Well, my official business partner is my husband, so we obviously met long before launching this company (lol). He has his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Eller College of Management at The University of Arizona and has experience in several start-up companies, all of which have sold through acquisitions. Because of his extensive business experience, he runs the finances and logistics of the company while I focus on the client care and actual nutrition interventions. I love this setup because it really allows me to focus on what’s most important which is my client and their outcomes. I would not be able to do this without him and his business knowledge. He’s the brains behind running the operation while I’m the brains behind the client treatment plans. It’s the perfect setup and I’m hopeful that ReviveFN will grow and reach more people with both of our specialties running the show.
