We recently connected with Harrison Horn and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Harrison thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s go back in time to when you were an intern or apprentice – what’s an interesting story you can share from that stage of your career?
So unbeknownst to me I was able to get in this high-profile Union when I was 18 years old based off of a technicality. I ended up having to travel to all parts of the country just to work and get ours to finish my apprenticeship. Whenever I would call my home local for work they would always tell me that they didn’t have any jobs and that there was nothing going on.
I would be somewhere in Minnesota freezing working in -15° weather meeting people that just came from out of La working at the refinery who are making anywhere from 3 to $6,000 a week and 70° weather just to tell me that they have plenty of work out there.
Over the years I started running across more and more people who had no idea what an oil refinery was or where the power came from or had no idea that a nuclear power plant was real. A lot of people know that these industrial sectors make a lot of money but do not know how to apply for these jobs. This encouraged me to start a YouTube channel and help people go in the right direction to where they can get out in the field and make 70 t0 100k a year with no degree for education.
So now on my YouTube channel I show people how to get in and I show them what are the best unions that they should get into that pay the most.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Harrison and I am a single father of a special needs child that I take care of that wants to be a pilot. On my spare time my son likes to fly so we have been to a lot of the major hubs in the United States. We basically know most of the airports by their initials (examples LAX MCO).We also go to air shows and rocket launches as well.
I used to travel as a welder for 15 years in the union period I worked over in the Middle East for 6 months and I also had a Canadian work permit for 2 years where I used to work in the oil sands in Fort McMurray alberta. I gave up the traveling so I could be home Monday through Friday to take care of my son.
I have a full-time job that I work at Monday through Friday as a safety supervisor. I am also a personal photographer. I’ve shot with genuine Bishop TD Jakes celebrity makeup artist Nikki Scott Kyla Pratt and a few government officials just to name a few.
Now another thing that I do is I use my expertise of traveling with the oil and gas industry to help people find jobs and to bring awareness to the industry so I run a YouTube channel where I do a call and show every Wednesday to help people find their way into the union. (Industrial dave)
The last job that I have as a cobbler is a running Instagram page where I do shoe restoration. I basically take shoes that are valuable that customers want to have redone whether they wanted painted over or they want them to look brand new again. @icemancanon on Instagram

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Well only a few of Americans will understand this type of resilience. To raise a special needs child who is autistic and nonverbal you have to have the patience of a mule.
I have learned to understand that if I’m not able to have my son be able to function in society he’s going to have a very miserable life. I have to teach my son to conform to the world because the world does not have to conform to him. It’s a challenge every day to get him to try and understand life and also knowing that there will be times where my son is not treated fairly and might get taken advantage of. It is part of life but my job is to make sure he can move around and learn the best way that he knows how.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Even with all the technology we have at our fingertips now the best source of Technology will never beat humans. Word of Mouth still to this day is undefeated. You will see commercials for Chevrolets all the time and you also see commercials for Kias and toyotas. Those are great vehicles. Do you have never seen a commercial for a Lamborghini Aventador or a Ferrari 458. But yet that’s everyone’s dream car.
When you have a great product and you did good work people are going to talk and your business will spread throughout the community that it needs to get through. One thing that I have learned about all my businesses is that when you have real results that’s when you get the payoff.
