Alright, Tiffani thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Ever since I was old enough to be in the kitchen, I was there with my Grandma. She was my MeMe. Some people would call her Betty Crocker, as that was her maiden name! Along with a lot of other special women in my family, baking is on our blood. I knew very young that I loved to be in the kitchen and specifically with baking. I further pursued my baking journey & graduated in 2015 with my Associates Degree of Applied Science in Pastry Arts. Now I am the proud Owner of A Cheesecake Lover! Being able to utilize my Grandma’s recipes in the kitchen daily is super special.

Tiffani, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Tiffani Sweet and I am the proud owner of A Cheesecake Lover! I offer over 75 Flavors of Gourmet Cheesecake options as well as a wide variety of ways to eat your Cheesecake! Cupcakes, Slices, Bites, Shooters, Parfaits, and more! After working in a few Store Manager positions, I decided to finally dream big & start my business! In February 2023 A Cheesecake Lover became official in Wake Forest! I am located in a commissary kitchen space & I am inspected by the Department of Agriculture. I offer Anything & Everything Cheesecake for any occasion! From Whole Cheesecakes to Slices to 3 Tier Wedding Cheesecake Cakes to Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries! The options are endless & it’s time to get your Cheesecake On!
I’m extremely proud of the brand I’ve created, literally from the ground up. I can say that I did that. Being a one-woman-show isn’t easy, but I also wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve learned so much about myself and I continue to try to learn every single day.
I really take advantage of that free advertising between social media & word of mouth. Trying to stay consistent with marketing & posting on social media is super important!

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
A Cheesecake Lover used to be just a dream. It eventually worked it’s way up to little side gig, out of my one bedroom apartment. Mainly baking for friends & family, but I got amazing feedback! Then I started posting on social media and I found people were more & more interested, I started gaining a following! A few small Farmer’s Markets here & there and I would completely sell out! Fast forward to now, I’m in a licensed commercial kitchen space. I Wholesale to 15 different locations in the surrounding areas! I’m super grateful for the support of who I call my “Cheesecake Family”! After losing my MeMe in 2011 & then my Mom recently back in 2022, I knew I had to continue to make them proud. I truly believe they are with me every step of the way and just to be at the spot I’m in now, I’m truly humbled.

How did you build your audience on social media?
When I first finally figured out the name “A Cheesecake Lover”, I created a business page on Facebook. Invited lots of family and friends & that later would turn into them inviting people. Word of mouth is an amazing thing! Also posting consistently at certain times of the day. Even if you get 2 likes, a few views, still post! That’s what I try to tell myself. People love food and love to eat!! & you want your stuff to not only look good but taste amazing! You want your stuff to be eye-catching and drool worthy so you can reach that social media audience
