We recently connected with Talyn Fiore and have shared our conversation below.

Talyn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?

Ideas belong to the world. If you don’t act upon an idea, the universe will give it to someone else, until someone makes it manifest.

I recently published a book called Waking Up: An Ode to Alchemy. It is a Reiki-infused poetry and photography book with a QR code to listen to the original score as you read.

The original idea came from an intuitive. I was pitching a TV series I had written and produced the pilot to all over town and asked her if it would get made. She responded by saying I was working on a book that would greatly impact the world. I had no idea what she was talking about. I had never considered writing a book and was definitely not already writing one.

But her words planted a seed I couldn’t ignore.

During quarantine, I had been writing a lot of poetry for the first time since I was a young girl with no intention of showing anyone. One day I dropped my poetry journal and it opened to the first page. I had unknowingly titled the journal Book of Poems by TF. My body was covered in cold chills – this was the book I was writing.

The idea blossomed into dozens more over three years. A first edition. A cover change. A title change. More Photos. Original Music. Collaborators. A second edition.

This idea is so much bigger than me. I am blessed to be the conduit to bring it into the world. We are all constantly being inspired, whether you realize it or not. Start paying attention to those little moments of insight that seemingly come out of nowhere. Listening is a powerful act of innovation.

Talyn, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Just like a seed, my path was born out of darkness.

I excelled in life in an outer sense. I was popular, got straight A-s, and my parents were together. But inside I was miserable. I seemed to feel things deeper than anyone I knew. Almost like I was born heartbroken I learned to hide this because I realized people didn’t like dealing with big emotions. I was incredibly critical of my accolades, my appearance, and what others thought of me, and believed I had to earn my worth.

This continued until I was 18 and my father died suddenly two months into college. This shattered my soul. Something I ignored for years by distracting myself with drinking, getting good grades, and being co-dependent in a relationship. When that relationship ended all the grief I had buried away for seven years consumed me.

And thank God it did. Because it was in this moment of reckoning, of wanting not to exist anymore, that spirituality found me. I immersed myself in breathwork, meditation, self-help books, yoga, retreats, and plant medicine. The sliver of hope I found in each modality saved me.

Reiki started as a quiet suggestion. Initially, I pursued level one purely for self-healing with no intention of becoming a practitioner. But Reiki kept calling to me. I heeded the call and began practicing Reiki while continuing my work in the Los Angeles entertainment industry, never imagining it would become a full-time career. Surprisingly, my practice flourished almost overnight through word of mouth alone. It became clear that the Universe intended for me to be a healer.
Source guided me to embark on a year-long journey through Sedona, Mount Shasta, and Ashland, committing fully to my healing path. When I did, my business shifted to a virtual model and tripled.

Now, I work with people 1:1 virtually all over the world to help them heal with multiple modalities and empower them to their highest potential. I teach Reiki to help others heal themselves and share free daily content on my social channels to help people out of their darkness.

I combine my diverse skills with my intuitive abilities, offering a holistic approach to well-being that encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. My methods are personalized, reflecting my deep commitment to understanding and addressing the unique needs and aspirations of each person I work with.

I have empowered millions on social media, and it still amazes me how the Universe uses me to help heal others. The girl who once felt alone and unworthy now has the privilege of helping countless individuals realize their limitless worth.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

My newest creation Waking Up: An Ode to Alchemy has not been without its roadblocks. The musical aspect of this creation ended up being incredibly difficult to make happen. A musician named Andisheh Yeganegi and I worked for months to create a mesmerizing score to accompany my narration of the poems. We created it with the intent of the audiobook being available solely on vinyl. I adore records and this was part of my vision for three years.

As the project evolved I decided I also wanted the music available on streaming platforms. I had no idea how hard this would be. We spent several more months mastering the tracks for vinyl and streaming.

The audiobook album is 74 tracks long and a number of the tracks/poems are incredibly short – 9 seconds short. This led to the album being rejected by almost a dozen distribution services. I was told over and over either: “too many tracks”, “the tracks are too short”, or “We don’t distribute spoken word.”

For three months I submitted the album over and over and over. No was the only word I was hearing but I refused to give up. I had a launch date scheduled that I had been marketing for a few weeks and just kept moving as if the album was already a reality on streaming. Finally exhausted, I surrendered it completely knowing there was nothing more that I could do. If it was meant to be it would be.

SEVEN DAYS before the launch date the album was accepted by a distribution company through a connection that had been set into motion weeks earlier. Now, the album is available on all streaming platforms and links to a QR code in the physical book. The experience of listening as you read is unlike anything I have experienced and the feedback has been phenomenal.

It would have been so easy to throw in the towel. But one thing I have learned is – the universe rewards FAITH.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Empowering the world to fall back in love with themselves. Through love, they will realize their infinite potential.

I know what it feels like to feel worthless, to feel invisible, to feel like your dreams are so out of reach. I have been broke, in debt, depressed, drowned in grief, heartbroken, angry, resentful, you name it. I have been where you are. And through hard work and belief I have made it to the other side. I am living my dream life and you can too. I believe from the bottom of my heart that every single person has a glittering potential within them.

My mission is to ignite that spark into a mighty flame in as many people as possible.
