We were lucky to catch up with Robert Celaya recently and have shared our conversation below.
Robert, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Music has been around me my whole life, I’ve listened to plenty of rap music growing up and my dad was also a rapper along with his friend group. They were all doing live performances and they were once on the radio and because of that I want to carry on the legacy in the music business after my dad. I started making beats in the 7th grade just for fun, I posted my very first beat which now has 34k views on YouTube and that’s when I wanted to pursue a music career but I wanted to take it to another level. Now my music has ended up on all platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a music producer, I’ve been producing music for the past five years. And ever since then, I’ve had gained a lot of opportunities in the music industry, like working with underground musicians, getting to know well-known musicians, and collaborating with producers who have collaborated with other well-known musicians. I usually create Hip Hop or Trap music because that’s mainly what I grew up listening to but I also make different genre of music as well like R&B or Pop. I am proud of how far I have came with my career, I started off with making beats from my phone, to a school chromebook, then to an actual computer with a lot of softwares on it and now my music is getting more recognition. I’m proud of the opportunities of getting my name out there, like performing my songs in front of many people, meeting well-known artists, and working with musicians.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
One of my objectives is to work with more musicians outside of the Bay Area. By doing this, I hope to gain their respect and reputation through social media promotion and music marketing. My second objective is to be well-liked by the music industry, the entire world, and many of my followers and supporters.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Meeting well-known musicians and having the chance to work and collaborate with other artists who has connections with well-known artists is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my job as a music producer. Being a music producer also pays off because of the amount of attention my music has received thus far. A lot of TikTok users have used my audio to create videos, which makes me glad to see how far I’ve come. However, larger things are on the horizon.
