We recently connected with Aimee Alfaro and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Aimee thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Starting up business is a big risk to take! Doesn’t matter what you do, just know there is no one like YOU doing it. That’s the difference and the reason I did took the risk. There can be many people baking cakes and decorating cookies but I did it so I could sell my own creations and connect with my people in a way I know I can show my love and passion. Over the 2 years I have grown so much and pushed myself more with each order.

Aimee, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Baking has always been a big part of my life. At the age of 15 I remember my mom taking me to Micheal’s during the summer and being the youngest one taking the cake decorating courses. Here we are 15 years later now doing this thing! I make anything from cookies to cakes to big creations to small batch pasties.
The biggest accomplishment at this moment are any of my bookings. Each one makes me so happy. I appreciate all my customers who have placed an order with my and have let me push myself to be better with each other.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Social Media is the biggest thing for me.
Facebook is where I can get new clients, I see a lot post on groups I am in and just comment on them if I can help in anyway. Nowadays my friends and customers recommend me and I love getting the new follow and see a message request pop up.
I love Instagram as my portfolio and I always tell my new and returning clients to follow me on there to see what’s new and for future orders.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I am always giving my customers all the information they need, I like to prepare both us for the order. I like to send updates and reach out afterwards, always thanking them for letting me bake for them and their loved ones.
Good quality photos and videos make a big difference. Just being able to show a new customer a nice photo of what they might be getting/reference, definitely helps. Reels on Instagrams is nice source too, you can get super creative and show BTS of how things get made all in a few seconds.
Shout out to my husband for being my content creator, he the one behind my new photos and videos!
