We recently connected with Kelsey + Bayleigh Ivan and have shared our conversation below.
Kelsey + Bayleigh, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Bachelorette planning can be a real doozy, especially with the stress of day to day life. We wanted to create this shop to help others alleviate the aches and pains that come along with being a bridesmaid. Immediately, we started dreaming of what this shop could be. First we needed a name… have to start somewhere, right? We wanted the name and brand to reflect our personalities and humor. We’ve both been called basic a time or two (who hasn’t?) and thought it would be fun and clever to pull from the iconic term of being a basic b****. From there The Basic Bach was born. We feel like everyone should embrace being basic and that it shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Our slogan is, “who said being basic was a bad thing.“

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Our Etsy store is a one-stop shop for all things bachelorette parties. We make easy-to-use invites and itineraries that can be customized and edited through a downloadable Canva template. We also sell t-shirt and sweatshirt designs that match our curated themes. Being a newer shop, we have plans for the future to make games, an Amazon storefront and so much more!
We’re a sister duo, Bayleigh & Kelsey Ivan, who saw an opportunity in the market to help others who are also always a bridesmaid. Speaking from our personal experience, it can be hard to come up with themes and ideas for bachelorette parties and even harder to execute them. That is where we come in, the stress of picking a theme, a location, the itinerary, and shirts can be solved with the simple click of a button. Or if you are a tad more of a control freak (like us, clearly), it is customizable and our shop can just be used as a starting point.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Everyone wants to throw their bestie a Pinterest worthy bachelorette party and helping people do just that is one of the most rewarding things. Bringing people’s dreams to life is what fuels us. Plus, we have fun on our daily facetime chats coming up with unique themes!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Being creative isn’t easy. Trying to constantly come up with the next new and innovative idea is draining, especially when it comes to planning on top of your day job. Everyone is creative in their own way but our goal is to take away the stress of planning your besties bachelorette party. Our main driving force is to help those who don’t feel like they have the power or resources to execute a themed party alone. We are here to be their partner in crime and make it look like they have their s*** together.
