Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Raven Jané . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Raven, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?
When I first started YouTube, I knew this was for me. Having the creative control, creating entertaining content and traveling of course. I knew it was official when I received my first sponsorship from a designer handbag, Teddy Blake. I was super shocked, not because I doubted myself but because I was only a YouTuber at the time for one year. Everybody journey is different if you stay consistent on your craft. The experience was everything then I thought it would be and I know I have to keep receiving more. When they reached out to me, it was a collaboration of me receiving my first luxury handbag and discussing the details of the craftsmanship. Also, them sponsoring one of my videos just made my page look even more official lol. Now every since then, I’ve build a relationship with them and still create content for them til this day.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Raven Jané, an international published model, model coach, host, YouTuber and content creator. I got into the business by officially started modeling my first year at Jackson State University #theeilove. After, I started getting myself out there, I was on a HBCU Fashion Tour, introduced to my branding coaches, numerous fashions shows including NYFW and so on. Right now I started my own production company, Enajé Gold LLC, and having my first Model Bootcamp. Training aspiring models and teaching them about the business. Since I started modeling in Mississippi, I decided to have my first bootcamp there. I am most proud of my work ethic and saying what I’m going to do and doing it. It’s all about executing your plans and goals and not let anyone get in the way of it. Stay focus on your craft and you shall succeed. Sounds easy right? Or so easy to say? Well, I’m not perfect and experience a lot of downfalls and depressions. If you do fall down, take your time on working on yourself and get up. Don’t stay on that ground. Having a clear stable mind is the key. Whatever it is that will help you get there whether it’s going to the gym, hiking, painting and etc. find that and let that be your imaginary cigarette lol.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Realizing how short life is when you lose your love ones at a young age. They might think they fulfilled life but I feel there’s so much more out there then just typical 9-5 jobs (unless your okay with that) and waiting to use your vacation hours. Those same love ones was so supportive of my career choice and reminds me that they’re proud of me. Losing them within 9 months apart took a lot out of me. When I got back into this industry after going through hardships from my career, I said I’m going to give this a try again and give it my all. Even though I know they are watching me and still proud of me, but it would’ve been better to hear it instead. But they were some of the main ones who gave me this tough skin. My mission is to travel the world more and still work on my passion.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
This social media algorithm is wayyyyy more harder than it was before. Reason why is because I had to start over because I was hacked. Lost contacts and so much more. But one thing I do know is reels are so popular and you can target audience who are not even following. It’s all about trendy topics, sounds, content and etc. Keeping yourself relevant by posting consistently and engaging to comments.
