Hayden , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
As a young aspiring entrepenur paving the path for myself trying to learn what it takes to not only start and maintain a business bout generating profit off of that, I would say that what it takes to be successful is persistence. Being persistent and constantly searching for new information, jobs, or relationships is what is going to drive a business. For example, at 20 years old I am extremely motivated to start my own video/filmmaking production company. At first I had no clue what that even meant or how I could possibly have a sustainable living scenario based off of something in the creative arts. But as I have been persistent on finding new information through videos, podcasts, and other creatives in my same industry that have done what I am learning to do I have grown my knowledge on how many moving pieces go into just running a business in general. You have to constantly be outreaching to people that may be suit your personal brand as a customer. It takes alot of courage and perseverance to get on a call and interact with a potential client. But that perseverance and integrity shows alot in a person who is wiling to put in the work of creating a successful business for themselves.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a 20 year old independent filmmaker. I am a hard working and very motivated individual trying to accomplish the impossible which is having a successful career in the film and television production industry. I take lots of pride when working actively on projects collaborating with other like minded people. I have experience as a child actor in Los Angeles where I have worked on a number of different short films, music videos, and feature films. I was nominated and selected for the best young actor of the year in 2018 for my performance in a UCLA produced short film named “Headway.” After my time of working as a child actor I have found myself in my early twenties pursuing the film and media industry but as crew. I am a writer, director, cinematographer, and editor. I also provide photo services for other photography gigs when needed. I often find myself on independent sets mainly as a production assistant or a gaffer. I do social media to promote my accomplishments and the projects I have or currently working on. I have a very unique story which I believe separates me from others. When I was seven years old I had a brain tumor growing in my head that could have been a very fatal incident but ultimately had surgery to remove this life threatening occurrence. Ever sine then I feel that I have had a more sensitive outlook on life realizing how precious it really is. It has only motivated me to chase after what I want to do in life and that was filmmaking. From a young age I never wanted to work a common blue color nine to five job and having this surgery was what made me realize that I need to chase after what I want. I currently and producing a podcast where I am not only giving upcoming filmmakers who are curious about how the industry works my advice, but also just relatning to the person that is trying to pave their own pathway into a successful career in the film industry as well. Nowadays I feel that you don’t necessarily see people talking about how they are still learning about how to become successful for find peace with what they want to do. Mostly it is stories from years ago explaining what happened and how it has led them to where they are now. I feel that I have a very different outlook in that sense because I have not made it to where I want to be quite yet. I will eventually, but I am not there yet. I want my podcast and platforms to be a safe space for people to ask questions, collaborate with others, and relate to my outlook on life.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
As a young entrepreneur I would gladly say that my mission that drives the creative journey for the kind of person that I am is my personality. From growing up in a low income scenario my whole life inspired me to have to use my imagination for entertainment. We never had spare money to throw around for little toys and things like that. I have always been a storyteller. From campfire stories to scripted short films I knew that being a visual storyteller was the perfect career path for me as an individual. I feel that my perspective I have on growing a career by yourself is not only helpful but motivating to other aspiring creatives.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or visual storyteller is seeing a project come together and understanding that I have orchestrated for something like my short film to happen. Because I woke up one day and had the motivation to write a short film script and make phone calls to cast actors and crew on my weekends off from work. Because I want to get my name on personal projects to prove that I can make a film. To have the opportunity to express my creative vision and style on a screen means the world to me and I feel that is so important. I am proud of every project I have made whether it is good or bad because it shows that I have created and represented a vision that. I am most proud of.
