Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kenny Bieber . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kenny, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
In my experience, what it takes to be successful is to just get started and be consistent. In the beginning of getting into photography, I simply just went to whatever shows I could find and practiced my craft each time. Eventually I started going to enough shows that people started to recognize me and that helped me become recognized as a photographer. By constantly getting out there to shoot and making time to review my work, it helped me gain a greater understanding of my abilities and allowed me to progress. While I do believe talent is a large part of being successful in any field, showing up and making time to put in the work and hone your craft I feel is what can truly set someone a path to achieve their goals.
Another aspect that I think factors into being successful is the ability to be flexible and learn. Having a growth mindset allowed me to learn some valuable lessons about both my personal craft as well as learning more deeply about the business end and how to present oneself to prospective clients. Success and the route to it can look different for everyone but for me, a positive attitude, willingness to learn and consistency are key qualities I feel in seeing the results you want to see from an endeavor.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi there! My name is Kenny Bieber and I’m a photographer in the NJ area who specializes in the areas of live music and events, portraits and creative shoots as well. In my work, I always try to showcase my clients in their natural element and a key part of my mission statement is to make sure the content I create showcases the many talented and creative people I’m fortunate to work with. In my photography career I’ve had the pleasure of shooting for bands local and mainstream as well as worked with local businesses and organizations to help create content for their marketing purposes. What makes my work notable is it’s sense of movement and action as well as an emphasis on intimacy and emotion to help capture the purity of my subjects! The aspect of my photography I’m most proud of is the ability to create something with someone from the ground up and help make them feel like themselves while also expressing my creativity in the process~
My journey into photography started back in college as I was studying journalism, I began to become fascinated by the art of taking photos and what started as a hobby gradually led into something more. After I graduated college, I decided to delve deeper into photography and it grew into a business for myself over time. while it hasn’t without it’s challenges, it’s been a very fulfilling journey where I’ve learned a lot about myself along the way along with connecting with the vibrant arts community in my home state!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the feeling of creating something that showcases your subject while also expressing your artistic vision in the process. One of the most exciting parts of being a creative and a photographer is being able to translate your personal style into an image and capturing a moment authentically. One of the joys of photography is the collaborative nature of it and I always feel especially fulfilled when me and a client connect and bounce ideas off one another and achieve the results we’re looking for. Also another aspect of the photographic process I enjoy is discovering new places and trying new types of photography and stepping outside of my comfort zone creatively. while I love the art of composing and executing an image, for me the truly rewarding aspect of being a photographer is the ability to connect with like-minded individuals and create something we can both be proud of while showcasing our collective talents in the process.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation within the local photography circuit is being present, approachable and proactive. In my early days of being a photographer, I made it a point to introduce myself to people and attend as many events as possible. Being present allowed me to eventually get noticed and the more I introduced myself to others, the more I was able to build a brand and be recognizable. Another way I built up my reputation was posting my work frequently on social media, the more I posted the more eyes ended up being on my work which led to my work being shared and gaining followers in the process. Another way I helped build up my reputation is by being personable, many people go with a photographer or creative based on compatible personalities and by being approachable it helped me bond with several fellow creatives, many of whom I still work with and am friends with to this day!
A notable reputation is key to being successful and for me being easy to work with, consistently present as well as showcasing your work in the right places can allow for greater visibility and recognition.
