We recently connected with Steven Rashan and have shared our conversation below.
Steven , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
For a while, I was an only child. My mother used to buy me a lot of action figures to keep me entertained. I would sit in front of the TV, watching movies, and then imitate what I saw on the screen with my action figures. This turned into creating my own little scenarios and making mini-movies with them, which ignited my passion for films.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello, my name is Steven Rashan. From a young age, I was captivated by the magic of storytelling, which started with playing with action figures and creating mini-movies based on the films I watched. This early passion for narrative and creativity naturally led me to study film in college, where I learned the science behind it.
Today, I specialize in writing and co-directing projects for my company, My Crazy A*s Thoughts (MCAT). I focus on familiar and everyday life experiences that people can relate to, but I approach them in a unique way that keeps the audience guessing. As my professor used to say in film study, “Leave them on their toes and always wanting more.”
One of the things I’m most proud of is my parents seeing an early screening of my new series and giving me nothing but positive feedback. I’ve won at a few film festivals, but nothing beats seeing how proud your parents are of you. I didn’t cry though, lol.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that I’m no different than anyone else. I feel I just found my purpose and I’m going after it, and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the journey from a random spark of inspiration to a fully realized creation. It starts with an idea that seemingly comes out of nowhere, which I then write down on paper. Seeing this idea evolve into a film that matches my original vision is one of the best feelings and brings pure bliss. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about watching a concept come to life and resonate with an audience.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In my view, the best way society can support artists and a thriving creative ecosystem is to give them the freedom to create without the constant pressure of business concerns. When artists are forced to focus on commercial aspects, it can detract from their ability to create authentically and for themselves. Additionally, most artists draw inspiration from life experiences. Allowing them the space to live and reflect enables them to create even more meaningful and impactful work. By supporting artistic freedom and providing a nurturing environment, society can help artists thrive and continue to inspire others.
