We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Emmanuel Petit-Homme. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Emmanuel below.
Emmanuel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The islands of The Bahamas, though numerous, comprise a small community. The creative industry here is even smaller. It has always been my dream for our small yet powerful industry to be recognized not just as a hobby, but as a legitimate business. Educating our people to treat it as such has always been a challenge.
FRYME Studios was established to provide professional audio and visual content to companies and individuals, and to offer a world-class space for our already talented creatives. However, while we excel in creativity, we lack in business knowledge needed to cultivate an industry that serves both us and our clients. It’s crucial for our clients to understand the importance of content creation for business, and to see the value in our pricing.
Mediocrity is often seen as acceptable, some may even say it’s the standard for our small island, but we aim to change that. As leaders in the creative industry, particularly in photography and film, we are here to educate, provide wisdom, and elevate what is sometimes seen as a luxury into a necessity.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Emmanuel Petit-Homme, and for those who don’t know me, I hold my last name dear because of my father. I’ve always wanted to make “Petit-Homme” a household name, inspired by the hardworking man my father has always been, even in his old age. It makes me proud to be called his son.
As a child, I was fascinated by how people appeared on television and how Superman could fly. This sparked my love for film, which seemed like just a dream in the Bahamas during the 90s. Today, it is a reality, and I’ve been working in the industry for over nine years.
What sets me apart is not just my passion for creating but my commitment to educating my people. I strive to elevate our nation’s capabilities in the creative field, showing the world what a small country can achieve. At FRYME Studios, we don’t just provide content; we guide our clients through the entire process, from conception to execution, helping them build a unique workflow that gives their business a distinct voice, look, and feel.
While we take business seriously, we prioritize the creative process and its purpose. Whether the goal is to generate sales or engagement, we tailor our strategies to each client’s unique needs, drawing inspiration but ensuring the final product is uniquely theirs.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a thing but a person: my business partner, Scharad Lightbourne. Despite being older than me, he has always respected my role as CEO, often saying, “When you move, I move,” which enables us to accomplish great things together.
I’m incredibly passionate about this industry, and while my enthusiasm can sometimes be overwhelming, you’ll find I’m easygoing once you get to know me. We’ve had the privilege of working with top brands like Disney, Sony, and Discovery, and I believe the best is still yet to come.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
This story feels like a match made in heaven. My co-founder, Scharad Lightbourne, who is now FRYME Studio’s COO, was actually my mentor and taught me everything I know about branding.
When I first started, I was introduced to him, but I didn’t want to work with him until I could add value. That opportunity came sooner than expected when he reached out to me for video work. I offered to do it for free if he taught me branding, though I think he made the same offer in reverse!
After about two years, I had a five-year business plan that I hadn’t shared with anyone. To see if Scharad was the right partner, I asked him a key question. Initially, he didn’t pass my test, but two weeks later, he came back with the perfect answer. At that moment, I asked him to join me, offering him 50% of the company if he would help me build it. His response was, “When you move, I move,” and from then on, we’ve been like brothers.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I don’t know it all; I’m not the smartest, the strongest, or the best at everything. I am simply the best at what God has made me to be. It’s important to be quiet, listen, and speak afterward. Allowing others’ voices to be heard demonstrates true leadership and sets the direction for your company.
My backstory is simple: I’ve made mistakes, but I recognized them just in time to prevent things from going sideways.
