We recently connected with Sam Panitch and have shared our conversation below.
Sam, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
I worked at one of the top miniature golf courses in the world. I know it sounds crazy, but it is true. People traveled from around the world to this place to try their wacky and fun course. It was a dream high school job, working outside and interacting with people daily.
The most important lesson I learned was that people matter. Being in a service industry role here helped me understand that my interactions with others had an impact. I could make them feel special, important, heard, and wanted, or not. It was up to me and my people skills.
This concept has helped me in entrepreneurship. Relationships matter. People matter. How they feel matters. All of these people skills help plant seeds of relationships for the future that have turned fruitful for me and will continue to create opportunities.

Sam, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
After graduating from college and getting a top consulting job in NYC, I felt more lost and confused than ever before. My entire life, teachers, coaches, and parents were telling me what to do next, but then I was thrown into the real world. Every decision I made was my own, and I felt lost and helpless. This inspired me to search for help. I wanted to talk to other 20- and 30-year-olds who I thought had ‘life figured out’ to learn how they did it.
“Fast-forward 4 years, Elevation Nation has over 300 podcasts with diverse leaders from around the globe providing advice on how to conquer the real world. Additionally, I speak around the country to high school and college students as well as corporations on how they can elevate their mindsets for success.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Vulnerability breeds credibility. Far too often we see people on social media painting perfect lives. Instead, we’ve taken the organic approach of opening up about our struggles and challenges. We shine a light on our downfalls and confusion we have as young adults in an effort to help others feel like they aren’t alone as they conquer the real world.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
People you meet want to help you. I think in a competitive academic environment people learn about a dog eat dog world. But if you treat people with respect and offer to help them first, you will be able have them as a resource for years to come. These people are the best resources you can have.
