We were lucky to catch up with Nicolas McNaughton recently and have shared our conversation below.

Nicolas, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

OCRUNNERZ started out with a couple of people tired of dealing with car clubs that are not active and do not benefit the community. Starting out in 2023 this club was born for individuals who love helping others with their build, car meets, and even racing. Fundraisers are also a part of OCRUNNERZ so we can give back to the community. What separates us from other car clubs is we enjoy each others company and often get together to cruise and grab food. There are also times we host “Installation Parties” where we all get together to help install a new car modification a member has received. In the end it is not just about cars, its about family and community.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m 25 years old from New Jersey. Grew up in a small town called Manahawkin and went to college at Stockton University for Homeland Security and Counter terrorism. However I joined the marines in March of 2021 where I learned discipline and how to be a better leader to drive those around me to reach a common goal as a team. Once I moved out to California I joined a couple car clubs but it was never fulfilling enough and a few others also agreed with me that they wanted to have a club with a bigger purpose. OCRUNNERZ was then born!

We love to host car meets near businesses who approve so we can bolster their brand to people who may not know of their business. We also love to try and donate when we can to philanthropic companies.

One of the biggest challenges we faced was growing our club. People would be skeptical due to us not having the best looking cars. However most of our cars were heavily modified which drew in a ground and it’s how we were able to get dedicated team members where they would help us with our mission to giving back to the community.

What sets us apart from other car clubs is we do not believe in rough behavior and do not tolerate those who break laws. In addition our members are required to uphold the law while representing us.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

We wish we knew more about printing shirts and making affordable clothing to help with obtaining a profit to be able to give to companies that are family owned

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Many people have left and or other groups will see us and not understand where we are coming from so we get put down a lot but over time we have gained a really good popularity with other companies and relations with other groups and in addition gained a good popularity with the public
