Hi Joey, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
Our clients often hear me say “Let’s start with your wish and then find your reality.” The balance between between vision and budget is an integral part in designing one of a kind events. I focus on viewing every event from the clients perspective. The goal is to make them feel as if they are the most important event Artisan has ever produced, all while staying true the initial dream. I think the key to this is what we are know for, that every detail matters. Understanding and creating our clients’ vision while anticipating their needs as the event proceeds is assured to create “the best day ever”! Sometimes you just have to know when to hand them a shot of tequila verses their usual glass of rose.
Joey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Artisan, the company I founded 24 years ago, focuses on design, creating and producing one-of-a-kind events and weddings; from Palm Springs to various locations around the world. As an artist, I approach each event as I would a blank canvas: Building from a concept, which ultimately transforms into something beautiful, exciting, and unique. Inspiration is derived from many sources, including meeting with clients, visiting event locations, traveling to various trade shows, and even from a simple texture on a piece of fabric. I draw from a wide palette of experiences, such as fine art painting, floral design, music study, construction, and television production. My exceptional team and I bring dreams and celebrations to life. As Artisans, we work in many media, from delicate flowers to sturdy building materials. Our clients comment on our organization, meticulous detail, and professional execution. By creating detailed proposals, floor plans, and down-to-the-minute timelines, our events transcend into seamless and stress-free productions. “The best day ever!”
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Consistency! This is the key to building continued relationships. Creativity! Always trying something fresh, new and exciting. Enthusiasm! When you do what you LOVE it is contagious.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Referrals. From building great relationships with various professionals to creating unique and magical experiences for our clients, each event has the opportunity to lead to even more fantastic events, often with the previous clients in attendance. This is the foundation of what we like to call the ARTISAN Family!
