We recently connected with Christopher Reeves and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher , thanks for joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
When I was blessed with opportunity to train Tab Pierce. He hired me to help him improve his image because he had a conference coming up he was putting on. He said he didn’t want to give anyone a reason not to believe him and he knew his weight was an issue. As time went on through the training program we became closer and he asked me to introduce him at his conference. I did and had a blast. Then he introduced me to the client would facilitate my podcast. After that he would have me speak at one of his next conferences. Over time we would do more things have more events and now he is more of a mentor to me. We have a mutual respect for eachother.
One of my favorite moments with him is hearing people compliment his shirts. I made the decision to put him in some special shirts, Robert Graham. I made that decision to highlight his style, personality and high level.of quality. Seeing him light up is the best reward.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Christopher Reeves, and I am the founder of Dapper and Fit, an image consulting agency dedicated to helping men enhance their health, image, and nonverbal communication. My journey into this industry began with a profound interest in how appearance and physical fitness influence personal and professional success. Over the years, I recognized the powerful impact that a well-maintained image and strong physical presence can have on an individual’s confidence, relationships, and career opportunities. At Dapper and Fit, we offer a range of services designed to help our clients project an image of reliability, high standards, and success. Our services include personal coaching, fitness training, nutrition guidance, and image consulting. One of our flagship tools is the Blueprint app, which includes features like photo-taking check-ins to track client progress and a 3D body scanner to monitor body changes over time. This comprehensive approach ensures that our clients not only look their best but also feel their best.We address a variety of challenges for our clients. Many successful businessmen come to us looking to improve their relationships and personal health. By focusing on their physical appearance and health, we help them send nonverbal messages that convey reliability and high standards. This transformation often leads to enhanced personal and professional relationships. What sets Dapper and Fit apart is our holistic approach to personal development. We don’t just focus on one aspect of improvement; we consider how our clients want to be remembered and tailor our plans to align with their long-term personal goals. This unique approach ensures that our clients’ development is meaningful and lasting. In addition to our consulting services, I organize events under the “Legacy of Leadership” banner, aimed at fostering personal growth and professional networking among men. It featured networking opportunities, fitness tips, and a unique HIIT boxing workout, providing attendees with valuable insights and connections.Another significant event is the “Legacy of Leadership Gentleman’s Dinner.” This dinner included networking, team games, introductions, and a panel interview. The event focused on personal and professional transitions, with a panel discussing challenges, influential people, and proud moments in helping others. We also gave away the Blueprint app for free at this event, providing attendees with a valuable tool for their personal development journey.Furthermore, I host the “Man Up and Own It” podcast, where I discuss various topics related to personal development, leadership, and the importance of maintaining a strong personal image. The podcast features interviews with industry experts and thought leaders, offering listeners practical advice and inspiring stories to help them take charge of their lives and careers. What I am most proud of is the impact we’ve had on our clients’ lives. Have you ever had to pivot?
Taking a pivot is what started Dapper & Fit. I had just left working for a company that consumed my life and became my full identity. This happened after moving to Phoenix from Wichita, Kansas. Once I realized what was possible in Phoenix my perspective on myself changed. I quickly realized I didn’t like who I had become and did like the person I saw. I was unhealthy, sick and physically tired. Not only was I suffering, but my family was suffering too. I had completely stopped taking care of myself. Within 6 years I had gone from a 280 pound man of muscle to a 180 pound sickly man. The years of not sleeping, not eating healthy, and no longer exercising had taken its toll on me. Once I had left I found myself in a really dark place, and luckily for me I have a wife the still cared about me. She reminded me I had made a promise to her to take care of her and an example to set for our daughter. She followed that up with the direction that would save my life, “Go back to the gym and become the man I married again.” I was scared and tried to rationalize every reason I could to get out of going. She is spicy and dedicated wife who is always doing her best to help me be my best at all cost necessary. I knew she was right and her stubbornness got me back in the gym. Within a remarkably short amount of time I felt a change. My energy had gone up, my sleep improved, and even my body had started to change. I was hooked again and then it hit me. Just how many men have possibly done the same exact thing and are still suffering. That pivot helped me not only take care of myself but also gave me the opportunity to help so many other men.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
The advice I would give someone who needs help managing a team and maintaining a high moral with in that team is to learn about their people and promote their successes. I have found that having set standards and clear direction combined with reenforcement of positive behaviors and being genuinely curious about the team members has a way of driving engagement and productivity. Making getting to know people a priority has helped me give them the feeling of being important, seen and heard. By getting to know them you can get them the training, direction, opportunities and in all put them in the best position to win. Then when each person is in the right spot they thrive, and the team can operate more effectively and efficiently. You know when they are having an off day or when something amazing has happened. A bonus happens when your example as leader rubs off and they start following it. Being more curious, recognizing eachothers positive behaviors, and performing at a higher level.
