Hard work pays off means that when you work really hard you get to reap great benefits from your efforts. This can be in the form of appreciation, recognition, awards, money, position, title, promotion etc. It does pay in the end to work hard. I have accomplished many things in my career but 3 of my biggest accomplishments was going on a tour, getting recognition from the Senator of New Hampshire, and also a recognition from a celebrity fashion designer. Those moments was big for me cause I’m a kid from a small city but with big dreams Read more>>

The most common question that I get asked is where is the most dangerous place that I have filmed in. Everyone expects the answer to be Syria, Iraq or Afghanistan but the answer is the west side of Baltimore. The west side of Baltimore is extremely blighted with rows and rows of abandoned homes and vacant storefronts. There are precious few restaurants where one can sit down and enjoy their meal but there was a venue called Soul Source by the Airbnb that I renting in the Midtown-Edmonson neighborhood. Read more>>

Let’s go back to April 2020. Businesses were shut down, everyone and everything was isolated. There was no set date to which our lives would go back to normal. At that time, essential businesses were the only ones open. Little did the government know, including myself, the huge impact we as hairdressers have in the world. Their itinerary from destination to destination was excellent. Finally back at their house for the final drop-off their driveway was a straight away and their vehicles was on the opposite side. As a professional makeup artist, I get what I call ‘face-time’ with interesting and inspired talent on a daily basis. One such fascinating person is Cindy Dale, Intuitive Healer and Author (https://cyndidale.com/). As I made her up for her on-camera interview, she looked up at me and declared, “I’ve got it! You are The Beauty Shaman! You are going to be huge; you will travel all over the world helping women embrace their own beauty and become empowered!” Mind you, this was when I was an exhausted single mother with two young daughters trying to make ends meet and manage life. The tag line, The Beauty Shaman, wasn’t anywhere near my overwhelmed brain. What she shared, though, ignited a spark in me. Read more>>

After leaving the military, I struggled with knowing my place in the world. My training as a Combat Medic gave me a very particular set of skills I knew would be useful if ever our society became compromised. I turned to writing dystopian fiction as a way to channel this knowledge into a stream of extra income. I went back to school for a Bachelors in English and was hired on as a technical writer to manage contracts for the public health department when COVID hit. Read more>>
