We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Megan Dupuis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Megan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
In 2020 during the pandemic, I was a stay at home mom to my 2 children. While I enjoyed the time spent with my children and will never take that time for granted, I knew deep down that I wanted to fuel a fire that was in me. Over the years, I had several people tell me that I should look into real estate. I never had the time before to dedicate to it, but as the pandemic forced us to be at home, I decided to pursue real estate. I became licensed in July 2020, not knowing the booming market that was to come. I started doing business part time and continued to stay home with my children. In June of 2022, we decided to make a move to the southwest Austin area, into the town of Lakeway. That August I decided to go full time in real estate and have not looked back since! I truly enjoy the people and the relationships I am able to form through this career, but still realized a little something missing that I wanted to fulfill. Being an entrepreneur can sometimes be very daunting and isolating, and add being a woman entrepreneur on top of that, it can add another level of challenge. In December of 2023, I realized we needed a space where women could come together to motivate, inspire and share about their business and own entrepreneurial journey. I then decided to co-found Lake Travis Women in Business. Over the course of the last 6 months, we have held many successful events and created an impact on our community. More importantly, we have created a place where we can come together and support each other both in business and in our personal lives. The amount of women who have told me how amazing this group has been and what it has done for their business has made me realize this is exactly what I am supposed to be doing. I am so fortunate to have found my passion through real estate and bringing people together.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Networking. Networking. Networking. I believe in organic marketing so I make sure my name is seen everywhere that I am trying to market. Whether it be through my children’s schools, sports organizations, Chamber and local event sponsorships, I try to be present as much as possible! I want to build trust and recognition with potential clients and that is what has led my clientele to grow!
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Yes. Real estate was more of a part time hustle for me initially, and I never really planned for it to become a career. However, as the market shifted and my passion grew, I took a chance on pursuing real estate full time. Now between real estate and my women’s group, my schedule is full and I am so grateful!
