We were lucky to catch up with Lisa Hagenbuch recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
I was working with a business coach on taking my business from a hobby I was growing while raising children into a sole proprietorship. My business coach is an Intuitive as well as my Tarot teacher, which is a perfect fit for an Astrologer. While working on a business name, I told her I kept hearing the word ‘echo’. She thought for a few minutes and then said “how about Future Echo”? I said Perfect!
The name encapsulates my philosophy that time is an enigma. It is not a linear construct. While all we really have is the present moment, most of us find it a spiritual challenge to stay in that present moment. Thoughts about the past affect our present mindset. Dreams, fears, and projections affect our beliefs about the future. The past echoes into the present and reverberates into the future.
In my astrological work with clients, I describe how past, present and future energy cycles impact their lives. In my energy work with clients, we positivey shift ancestral patterns, entanglements and past life attachments that are having a negative effect and do not belong in this present moment. When an issue is not healed in one generation or lifetime, the issue is passed on to the descendants or to our future self. Positively shifting those issues in the present generation means that our ancestors can take their place as our support system and our descendants are free to individuate and live in authenticity. Understanding and clearing the past can have a positive effect on current circumstances, allowing creation of desired future circumstances.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I knew I wanted to be a professional astrologer at the end of my first session with an astrologer. I tell my students that astrology is a rabbit hole. You can study it your whole life and never get to the bottom. I dove right in and continue to be excited about learning how to interpret the new celestial energies that are continually being discovered.
My first teacher wove consciousness studies into our astrological training, so I consider myself an esoteric or evolutionary astrologer. I am infinitely fascinated with the psyche, subconscious patterns, what drives human behaviour and how we can conscously raise our vibration.
I began professionally practicing astrology in 1998. Astrological analysis is incorporated into all my client sessions. I continue to add in additional energy modalities. I am a tarot reader, a Family Constellations practitioner, and I’ve recently added Personal Energy Training to my list of certifications.
In my astrological sessions, I help clients understand themselves on a deeper, intrinsic level, providing tools and strategies for shifting what is out of balance or flow. I analyze the energy cycles currently operating in their lives, and forecast significant dates and time frames for the upcoming year, so they can take best advantage of the energetic opportunities coming their way.
In my energy work with clients, I facilitate positive shifting of ancestral, generational, past life, and subconscious patterns that are tripping them up, holding them back or stopping the expansion of what they are desiring to manifest in their current life experience.
My sessions are very interactive and led by life issues and relationship questions clients bring to the session. I am intuitive, not psychic, although oftentimes, targeted messages come through me. I consider what I do energy talk therapy and am most proud of being able to hold the space for healing, allowing things to come back into alignment during the work we do together in a session.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been partnership. This began while I was a stay-at-home mom of two. A friend of a friend owned a healing center. I read for the owner, and she added me to her practitioner list. I could set me own schedule, which allowed flexibility and work/home life balance. They took care of directly marketing my services, and I reached a new client base. I could set my session rate and I gave a percentage of the income back to the owner. This worked well for me, so I reached out to several other metaphysical stores in the Chicagoland area and was added to their practitioner lists. I continue to do this and I have found it to be a great way to gain exposure, allowing me to continually grow my client base.
Astrology partners well with other modalities, so I began partnering with other healers. We combine our services in one session or workshop event. My Qigong teacher & I have successfully been doing monthly New and Full Moon Ceremonies for the past several years.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I was a sales rep out of college. I focused on providing timely and consistent customer service and found that most of next month’s sales came from referrals of current customers. I apply these strategies to my current business and find that a good percentage of my clients are referred from satisfied customers.
I periodically keep in touch with my client base in small, but significant ways. A Happy Birthday text, reaching out to them if they forget to download their audio file, keeping them informed of new offerings.
I almost always go 10-15 minutes over our session time, so my clients feel they are getting a little extra every time we connect. I also respond to their email and texts in a very timely manner.
