We were lucky to catch up with Kimberly Seilhamer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
After my tour in the Marines, I tried to play super mom while turning the rest of my attention to screenwriting, directing, and producing. I really dedicated myself to learning the rules so that I might break them more fully and artistically. To this end, I took college screenwriting classes and received my Certificate in Directing from UCLA’s Extension Program, where I attempted to make stylish and inscrutable films.
Kimberly enjoys living in the Temecula Valley, Southern California’s booming wine country. She is an active member of the WGAw IWC, Film Fatales, Alliance of Women Directors (AWD), Veterans in Media & Entertainment (VME), and Hollywood American Legion Post 43. She volunteers by teaching screenwriting classes once a month to veterans. She also assists creators through her website, BrassBrad.consulting.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal that drives my creative journey is to make a positive impact on the world. I exploring the beauty and fragility of life, whether it be through the point-of-view of a baby elephant, through my own perspective, and/or through the titillating tales of Kings and Queens.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspects of being a creative include first) getting to know my characters, second) exploring themes humanity often struggles to understand, and third) mentoring other creatives.
