We were lucky to catch up with Trista McCoy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Trista , appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
This idea came about during time spent working within the podiatry side of the industry. There are so many nail technicians that specialize in providing manicure nail services only. But there’s not many spas that specialize in foot services only. This is something we felt was needed in the Raleigh area.
Trista , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been licensed for 22 years. Eleven of those years were spent at The Umstead Spa here in Cary. From there I have owned & operated two other spa businesses, and spent 2 years working in the podiatry side of this industry. There is where I fell in love with the medical side of the industry & the idea for Foot Health Spa was born. The vision for Foot Health Spa was to bring the holistic health aspect together with the high end type of services I have come accustomed to during my time working as a nail technician at the amazing Umstead Spa! I think my time working in the medical field along with the training & knowledge I received from Forbes & The Umstead Spa sets me apart. I love when my first time clients come for services, especially the advanced pedicure services we offer & discover we’re not just another every day nail salon, it’s really a relaxing experience and overall about your foot health.

Networking, networking & more networking. Word of mouth and providing the very best services for my clients. I’ve never been afraid to reach out and make connections with other local small businesses.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Word of mouth, being present & visual on social media every day! Rather you receive 2 likes or 20 post everyday!
