Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alex Hall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alex, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I was encouraged to freestyle with a few of my friends when I was like 15. It was in doing that I realized that I was pretty good and that I loved being able to let all my feelings out in such a creative and fun way. I think knowing what I know now the thing that would have sped up the learning process the most would probably have been being more consistent and writing more sooner. With that being said tho I think my freestyle skills are pretty essential to my art, It has allowed me to bring elements to my writing I don’t think I would have without.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My Name Is Alex Hall and I make music under the name AlexxDaKidd! I started making music to get feelings out of my head that was hard for me to talk about to people. I recorded my first solo song when I was 18 and It is called 1995 it’s about my struggles with mental health and drugs and that has been a recurring theme in my music since then. 2 Years ago I dropped my first mixtape called “My Suicide Note” and have dropped a few singles since then and am working on dropping a new EP this year. I also make music in a collective called ABOGZ (The Aboriginalz). My favorite Artists all have an ability to convey emotion into their music that I can feel throughout my whole body and Id like to think that is what I provide with my art, I put all my feeling of heartbreak, struggle, personal growth, my faults, and more. I think what sets me apart mostly is how much of my real self I put into my music, It allows people to connect with it and relate to it because I talk about things that we all feel as humans but might not feel comfortable talking about or even admitting to ourselves. I am most proud of my growth as an artist. I started recording my own music and making my own videos 3 years ago and since then ive had some amazing opportunities and met some amazing people. I want to show people that they are not alone and I know life gets hard and sometimes you want to give up but life is beautiful and you can find beauty in the darkest places. I want to thank anyone who takes the time to listen to my music and support my art!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I think just being able to create something that means so much to myself that can also mean so much to other people and can help them on their journey through life! music can be a theme song for memories that you will share forever so to be apart of that is so special.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I really just want to make good music that people can connect with and live comfortably doing it.
